Is the "Culture War" the greatest lie of the past 50~ years? (srs)

On the internet:

- Twitter and Reddit reign supreme
- Get canceled for having bad thoughts years in the past
- White men are the devil
- Being straight is a crime
- Minorities get all the jobs to fulfill quotas at jobs and school
- Democrats want everyone to get free money forever with no job



In real life:

- No one gives a **** about the typical twitter politics
- People forgive and forget for past transgressions
- White men are choosers, especially if they're good looking, when it comes to relationships and jobs
- increased minimum wage is supported by members of both parties (although not policymakers) because wages have not kept up with inflation
- People understand that fringe weirdos are in fact, fringe weirdos (the type of feminists that want to get rid of Father's day get NO air IRL whereas they'll get a 10 page thread as if they represent everyone in a certain group online)


in awe of the absolute propagation of ideals and threats online that just dont exist once you go outside

nah, ive fluctuated in different online communities and i can tell you the mindsets that get foster (that you allow to foster by remaining in certain communities) NEVER hold up IRL

misc, reddit, twitter, red pill, blue pill, white pill, black pill etc. etc. etc. it's all things taken to extremes or made up to promote (or argue against) a certain ideal that just does not hold up once you're in the sun

True except minimum wage for normal people. Most people I talk to have a general understanding of economics and are against it.

this is true to some degree, but make no mistake that the ground is slowly shifting beneath your feet out in the real world. the thing about the internet is you get the reports from people who are already feeling the direct impact on their lives. IRL, most people have yet to feel the effects, so you are in a sense correct. However, don't be fooled into thinking you will never feel the effects in your own life. Cultural shift is happening all around you, if it gets close enough for you (meaning the average person) to feel its effects in your own life, that means it's too late.

That being said referring to trans people in a positive way with the common pronouns they wish to identify as is beneficial regardless if you think they're mentally ill or not
