If I absolutely HAD to live in either one, it would be India.

I've met westerners who spent an extended amount of time in India, and still seemed fine after they got back.

Every westerner who stays longer in China and doesn't GTFO ASAP is staying there only because of some lucrative business opportunity, at the cost of their humanity and happiness.

I'd say India is better, it just seems like their culture has more humanity than the average Chinese, less political problems/authoritarian issues aswell i think

On food they're about even, both have good cuisines

India has more widespread knowledge of English

Just don't take a dip in the Ganges and you'll be ok

I currently live in China and have been in and out of the place since 2014.

I have spent a total of 8 days in India.

India is the closest thing to being in hell that I could possibly imagine. The smells, the sounds, the grime, the pollution. The abhorrent poverty and abhorrent treatment of humans and animals.

China is a phenomenal place in many ways, and it’s very sad that so many of you have been brainwashed by the US mainstream media into comically misinformed hatred. You generally will have no clue about the Chinese economy or the Chinese people unless you spend time here experiencing it rather than watching CNN or Fox.

So how is China different now? Well, the country's economy is booming, it pushes out products, it creates businesses and equips people in urban areas to work in the digital professional services - capitalist as much as the USA.

But they kept the one-party state, and of course, gov has massive control over what can or cannot happen and that affects capitalism, so you'd call it authoritarian capitalism.

But China has a free market. They got rid of socialist planned economy many years ago, as many post-socialist states did. But kept the one-party state.

I wouldn't gobble up Western propaganda that much - USA gov is decentralised and whatnot but do they not have severe control over what is going on in the market etc? Yeah, brah.

So there isn’t slavery or inhumane treatment of religious people over there? How much privacy do you have from the government? There isn’t people grinding their lives away in fields for basically no pay? Is a social credit score a good idea? What do you like about it?

Also on the issue of privacy and the social credit score, is it true that there is an app that notifies you that you’re in 100 meters of someone who is in debt?

I dont disagree with this and one-party decentralised gov control is bad barring a few small case studies but calling it communist is funny. srs

The Xinjiang province had a lot of issues with Muslim terrorists crossing the border with Kazakhstan. I believe there are measures in place but none that are remotely close to what the media portrays. The takeaway being that we will never understand exactly what’s going on the same way we probably will never fully understand what the US did in the Middle East. Many of my friends have traveled to that area, and I’m planning to go there in October because it’s beautiful and they have great food and don’t seem to have anything to hide.

There is no such social credit score. If you are in debt to a level where you’re in court or if you’ve caused major issues on a train or flight, you can have your travel restricted. But this is the same with the FAA and kind of makes sense. No, you don’t get a social credit score from jaywalking.

I engage in some outrageous degeneracy and ruckus in China and have zero problems.

Even factory labor workers have a pretty decent minimum wage and maximum hours. All of the notion that China is some kind of hub for cheap manufacturing labor is a completely outdated concept. Labor isn’t cheap here. They are a manufacturing operational powerhouse with immense technology of their own.

Alibaba clowns on Amazon
DJI clowns on GoPro (actually ended their drone biz)
Huawei arguably has best tech

Life is good here. No BLM protests. Covid ended June 2020. No liberals. Women are fit and feminine. Food is amazing.

China is like what America used to be but with some modifications.

I have been only in a tourist perspective, which is dog**** anyway as well but the idea I want to put across is that when reasoning on these things you should really care about yourself.

E.g one friend of mine had a job offer to do start-up financing, aka venture capital, there in Shanghai and he loves it. What Trump/whatever says means jack**** for you and your financial situation because Trump/Xi all of them are on top of so many things whereas we are just some peasants who work for a living.

My friend makes more money (when you adjust for cost of living and PPP) defined as how much USD he has at the end of the year pure disposable income. Just absorbing the culture (of the good stuff - food, entertainment venues etc) is a new experience - something I defo think I should do whilst young as the same **** day in day out gets depressing.

Last but not least, he is an average white dude body/height/face and slays good looking women who are PhDs in Ivy league versions of Chinese universities in heavy STEM subjects.

Yes, posting stuff like "Free Hong Kong" will get you into massive trouble in China - why would you want to do that though? Who cares really?

That being said, there are countries like SK, Japan, Singapore etc who do not have all negatives we mentioned and they are just as worthy, possibly more, but I just had to address these political terms being thrown here and there.

Communism has never come to fruition, only socialism has been attempted with a massive lack of success.

A socialist planned economy (GOV owns everything, ratios, lack of creative development of innovative business) is different to an authoritarian gov (altho it goes hand in hand for a socialist planned economy to work).

But there is no socialist planned economy ANYWHERE but North Korea - as close it gets to a true socialist state.

But I don't blame you - terms like these are so fluid since Political Science/Economics are not really scientific at all.

And NEVER date a white girl who lived in China. I’ve never seen a level of desperation and sexual degeneracy that comes out from them trying to compete with local talent.
