The whole point is to make enough money so you’re not dependent upon anyone or anything in order to live the life that you want to live.

There are different levels to that though. For example. A homeless guy is content to be 'free' rotting under a bridge. Begging on the side of the road so they can buy a 40 and a pack of cigs.


However my definition of freedom would be having enough expendable income to do whatever I want. Maybe I want to go ride a jetski today. Go scuba diving tomorrow. Go rock climbing or mountain biking after that. Etc.


The things I like to do costs money.

Basically this (srs)

Enough money to be able to tell anyone to fuk off. I don't necessarily need to be unemployed, I'd like to be able to work ~20 hours a week (remotely, on my own time) and contribute to society and make some cashflow, but not have to feel stressed about it or let it impede what I really want to do in life.

And not just have that equity tied up in stocks and properties - but also alternative assets in the event of societal collapse. Enough money to retire if I want to, but also have a stash of guns and ammunition, precious metals, etc.

Enough money to have my independence today, but also in any other future scenario I can envision

Have residual income so I can spend the time doing stuff I want to do once I'm 50. Life is too short to wait until you're old to enjoy life, and my kids will be teenagers by that point. Working on building a business I can do from anywhere.

How do you ever have time for relationships with family and friends if you are constantly posting on the misc? I can understand people who have social anxiety or who don't have a social life or friends being on here all the time.
