Why are suicides called “tragedies”?

Absolute cowardly move. We should never acknowledge these people. “Hey let me fuk up my entire family who has to try and deal it because I’m too mentally weak to cope with my trivial challenge in life that brings me down”. Shameful.

I think you answered your own question. Tragedy = something that causes suffering. The persons family will suffer due to the grief, and the person who killed themselves was also likely suffering. Seems tragic.

Fair enough. The term is kind of thrown around a lot and hard to pinpoint. Personally, the 5-year-old trying to valiantly battle cancer and succumbing to it is tragic. Not these emotionally weak people who didn’t want a chance at life and let their conscious decisions get the best of them.

"Suicide is cowardly" is a pretty low IQ take. I would never do it because I don't get depressed but I believe nobody chooses to be born, consciousness should be optional and people can kill themselves anytime they like.

There's nuances to everything. I know several people who have comitted suicide. One of them was the father of one of my closest friends. He was living with chronic, incurable physical pain for years. He was miserable. Who's selfish, him for comitting suicide or the family for wanting him to stay and live in hell so they don't have to suffer the emotional hit of him passing?

What you described is a complete exception and drastically low in terms of suicide percentages.

Sometime’s it’s drug head or flounderer whose family enable them growing up. Then eventually, the artificially created value and esteem created for them runs dry as they progress through the real world and reality kicks in. That’s just one example. More often than not, it’s a weak way out and it’s not a debilitating disease/illness that puts them over the top.

Also lol at the classic low self esteem miscer above you who chimed in with a drive-by comment and probably feels shame (rightfully) for thinking about ending it

That's a huge blanket statement.

There are plenty of scenarios where suicide would be a legitimate option. These situations however are extreme and only then would it be justifiable. I agree committing this act over something that truly could be overcome is a weak option. Not everyone has that fortitude or supportive people around them. Your life can really swing fast in an instant.

There are shades of grey.

Op confirmed on that spectrum
When it comes to rep power, just remember this. Better red than dead. Your reps mean squat in real life. Just thank the lord that you have your health.

You show how pathetically sheltered your life is by saying things like this. As a medical person I've watched a lot of people die from chronic diseases. I would kill myself every time if I was late stage pancreatic or neuroendocrine cancer, destined to survive a little longer by living on a ventilator, being fed through tubes without ever tasting a single thing again, begging for a sip of water, unable to move any of my limbs from weakness, chitting myself and barely able to communicate. Likewise if I became a quadriplegic---it would maybe be manageable if you have a laptop that can access the internet with your eyes, but I would still probably rather be dead than never be able to move and be reliant on caretakers to do every action for me as I mindlessly consume media.

But I'm sure you're such a brave and heroic soul you would happily just live through that for months until your body finally has enough or your family agrees to let you pass away peacefully.

its sounds
like trannies
they want ppl to accept it
yet its related to deep roots
in family raising, society and feel of belonging
this is why strong social and family bonds helps alot[of course not the toxic 1's]

Piece of piss for brains OP.

Imagine saying all scenarios are the same trivial matters. I hope you get riddled with terminal cancer and are non responsive to painkillers and I will show up at your place to let you know that your struggle is trivial and you are a coward for wanting to consider ending your suffering LOL
