AMA - Had appendix removed 3 days ago and still in hospital

Well misc a few days ago I went to urgent care after being bloated and got sent to the ER and sure enough my appendix had to come out. Was supposed to be done that night but my covid test didn’t come back quick enough so I got to think about it all night. Now 3 days after and I still can’t **** so I get the pleasure of an ng tube violating me. Not leaving for a few more days most likely.

Had my appendix removed and they tried to keep me there over night. I literally noped right tf out later that night. Told them either process my paperwork to leave or call the cops cuz I'm going. They had to call a doctor in to sign the paperwork 'cause he had already gone home for the night.

Lmao at charging me/my insurance for another day or 2 without my consent. Lol i was like lol.

Youre stayin there cuz you cant sht?

I had mine removed in october and they kickd me out the next day
but months later in jan (and until now)
have the worst health problems of my life and not sure if its related or not.

A couple weeks back I was super bloated but didn’t think much of it. It went away in a few days and didn’t miss work. Last week I had to call out I was in so much pain and went to urgent care. They sent me to the ER for a cat scan and here I am. I’m going to drop 10 pounds minimum from this.

I have a TV. Sleeping like **** but at least there’s a hockey game on every night so that takes up a few hours. I still can’t poop and my stomach is full of crap that just isn’t passing and I was still bloated and vomiting: I destroyed a pizza the day of surgery then got put back on liquids because it wasn’t passing.

Thankfully my wife is here all day but they kick her out at night. If you find a good girl marry her yesterday. Honestly don’t know how I would’ve handled this without her. I’m a giant vagina when it comes to hospitals to begin with.

I have decent insurance but yeah I’m a bit afraid of the bill. My deductible is only $1400 I think and they should cover most of everything else.

basically just had some residual sharp stomach pain after and some nausea when I ate for a bit too.
the recovery is kind of annoyin for a bit but ppl generally consider it a routine surgery. if you cant sht that means you have complications or your body reacted differently
i actually enjoyd being in hospital till i felt good to leave. Nurses bringing me full meals and stuff. but in canada so its different here and covered

Yeah it was apparently not an easy surgery. The tube hopefully gets things going or at least removes the buildup until my intestines wake the fuk up. They hear my bowels moving and making noise so at least there’s activity going on.

Took mine out 3 years ago, Was like a 40 minute surgery, then as soon as I woke up I got up and peed then said "omg did you really have to use a catheter!?"

Then me and my dad walked right on outta there, i refused the wheelchair
Then 3 days later i went out drinking with friends

bruh going through some unexplained bloating right now that has be really confused. Hospital when lol

Got a real mild pressurey gassy feeling in upper abdomen that gets worse after eating and better with belching. Been going for like a week on and off. Sometimes this weird feeling like cant fully empty bladder that relieves with intestinal processes.

Keep strong OP. I had a laparotomy 3 years ago. Tried 3 times for the ng tube but I kept fighting it off.

Took me a while to learn how to sh!t again. Good luck

I was in the hospital for a week. Total bill was over $145k but my out of pocket was 3.5k
