What will be done about skyrocketing US crime
I’m seeing a lot of videos were the group of city guys will go up and beat or shoot people for just walking the street. I don’t think they are captured unless the news makes a big deal so 1/10 are solved maybe
It’s like the country has released tigers on every major city eating people and not liking that is discriminating against tigers, there’s people vehemently defending the tigers right to roam without consequence
And often caught criminals get a slap on the wrist for any crime that is not killing/nearly killing so there is no lesson in punishment. In Muslim countries they cut off your hand for shoplifting.
If I was American I would not be confident in that country

They just let so many prisoners out over covid.
That plus all the anti police stuff had made criminals more brazen.
End of an empire.

Record number of Americans became first time gun owners last year during covid and the peaceful Floyd protesting.

Legalize all drugs would go a long way because then a lot of gangs would lose their primary income. It would also divert police from dealing with stupid small drug crimes and free them up to do other things. Less jail recidivism too.

The only way this would work is if they start executing gang bangers and cartel members. Obviously the prison system does nothing to help reduce crime. You already have more than 1 out of every two hundred people in your population in prison.

Mostly hearsay/no proof, but I have heard that since the Floyd incident big city PDs and courts have become very lenient on black offenders. Heard that jails locally were still holding Hispanics and some whites while cutting loose blacks ASAP for any offense short of murder.
There was a recent carjacking case locally where the carjacker killed the driver in front of his family. Woman who was in the car said that the carjacker didn't even make any demands of them; like "get out of the car" or "give me the keys", just shot him right away.
News said that he had a record and had been convicted recently of the same type of crime, but was only given community supervision.
DESOTO, Texas - A North Texas family is now broken after a father was killed, a mother was wounded, and a son was traumatized.
The person who police say is responsible was recently sentenced to community supervision instead of jail-time for other crimes.
The couple was dropping the 5-year-old off at this farm in DeSoto on May 15 where Noah’s biological father works. He visits his dad every couple of weeks.
Noah’s father, however, was running late, so the family parked outside the gate, but that’s when their lives changed forever.
"I have good days and bad days," Heather said. "He didn’t even ask for anything. He just started shooting."
"We would’ve given him anything if he had just asked, and Scott, fundamentally, was the guy who’d give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. There was no reason to just open fire like that," Heather said.
FOX 4 investigated and uncovered documents highlighting McMaryion’s criminal history.
He’s accused of stealing multiple vehicles. In fact, he just pled guilty in March to charges related to stealing a car.
He was facing up to two years in jail, but instead, the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office and judge signed off on three years of deferred community supervision and a $1,000 fine.

Decriminalize the rest. Treat it as a medical issue.

It costs more to keep an adult locked up than to feed and educate a child. I know which one I think is a better investment.
Fun fact: most people age out of committing crime, particularly violent crime.
Maybe people convicted of violent crimes, or with a pattern of ongoing criminal activity, should be sent to re-education camps until they are 28 instead of prisons. Mandatory basic education [literacy + life skills] and labor, with an option for career training for those with good behavior.
Make the career training a perk for the ones that apply themselves w/the possibility of early release w/completion of career training + supervised employment for 1 year. If they can make it for 1 year holding down a steady job and not getting into trouble then they can get on with their lives.

The democrat political party has decided to become more pro criminal. Many district attorneys in Democrat controlled cities have declared they will no longer prosecute muggings, most shop lifting, destruction of city buildings, etc. They are also defunding the police. If you want more police, less crime there is a good chance you will be labeled a racist or white supremacist.
So the way I look at it, if the Democrats are in power running a city or state, expect crime rates to be higher in that area and all the problems that go with that.
