Shrugs are almost useless for traps

Look at a skeletal muscle anatomy chart. Look at the origins and insertions of the muscle. It should be obvious from there what movements need to be done to fully lengthen and shorten as much of the muscle as possible

Lightweight upright rows with a massive squeeze and pause at the top
Row machine; allows one to shrug way more than they could with a BB
standard BB shrugs as well, up to around 120kg

That's the direct trap work I do. Things like behind-the-head lat pulldown hit traps to a degree.

Any movement with a trap bar. OHP is tough but can be done as well.
