Imperial measurements are better. Working in base 16 is actually better.

The Celsius scale is not precise enough. You need do .5 increments for temperature.

Damn. 8 don’t know much about the metric system, not at all. However, I do know?

That I’m wait the 600 from the defense department. Hopefully that rolls through quickly is it still this weak with b?

I’ll assume so, as I mean? This has been crazy. A community divided. Where was the continuity coming from? Is a question I want tj know. Don’t think I’ll ever get the full answer on that one...

And yet tire sizes everywhere in the world are in a mixture of metric/percentage/imperial. Example 225/45/R18 means 225mm wide, with a sidewal 45% as tall as the tread width, on an 18 inch wheel.

Same deal with screen measurements being imperial first, with metric being an afterthought. Go buy a TV, laptop or a smartphone in Germany and the shop display will tell the measurement in inches first, and sometimes (but not always) also in metric.

We do, its called half a metre, or 50cm. You don't need anything else. A metre can already be divided into hundredths thus mm's, or even small, nanometres etc. When would you ever measure something obscure like 70cm and think 'why doesn't this exact length have its own name' Fkin lol. I guess basic math is too much for most people

I guess remembering that there are 12 inches in a foot and 16 ounces in a pound is just too much for OP

There was some pretty rad engineering feats accomplished using the imperial system (ie the entire industrial revolution).

Weird that Americans who are so anti British furiously jerk their 4”er over the imperial system tho

World war winners and moon lander nations use imperial. No really, use mostly metric.

I hope we never switch from Fahrenheit because under 0 is dangerously cold, and over 100 is dangerously hot.
