Multichoice test, you get to pick 2 of 4, is that 1/2 or 7/12?
Imagine you were taking a multiple choice test of four options, A,B,C,D. You get to pick one answer, so say A, that's 1/4 of being right. The teacher lets you pick a second option, you go B, which at this stage has 1/3 chance of being right. So, overall you have a 7/12 chance of picking the right answer.

B only has a 1/3 of the chance being right if you assume A isn't the correct answer after choosing it. If you chose A and its 1/4 and then the teacher said choose another it would be 2/4

You have a 50/50 chance, right or wrong.
A is 25%.
Then, B is 33 1/3%.
So, you take your 66 2/3% chance of losing, minus your 58 1/3% chance, and you have an 8 1/3% chance of losing.
You then take your 50% chance of being correct, and add the 58 1/3% chance.
You have a 108 1/3% chance of being correct.
