It's making average people and idiots feel smart. Before this, idiots would still doubt themselves somewhat but now they feel validated and scream at the top their lungs: "I am idiot!" with everything they post online or say in real life.

It all changed in 2015, srs.

The problem is simply social media, it gave all the power of information to people with personal biases and it made every idiot that they agree with disproportionately loud.

yeah but the principle remains the same in that the cream rise to the top regardless. it's just a bonus practice for the truly high IQ to see through misinfo and unfounded assertions presented by the people you're talking about.

anyway, it should be celebrated that more people than ever are opening their minds and taking advantage of the internet for its wealth of info - isn't that what it was created for?

The same can be said of all the easy college degrees. Compare the pass/fail rates in universities from 30 years ago to today. It used to be about 50%, now it is almost 90%. More about getting money for their "non-profit" business than it is about education. Meanwhile, all these dipchits can walk around KNOWING they are smarter than everyone else because they bought a piece of paper that says so.

I've said it before 2012 and 2015 were big shifts

2012 is when everyone got a smart phone and 4g to access the internet anywhere and by 2015-2016 the social engineering picked up when they started using algorithms that creates a constant feedback loop of confirmation bias and echo chambers

We need to just eliminate social media so we can go back to being a logical and somewhat traditional society

The constant influx of information has to be creating some level of mass psychosis too. Our brains can't catch up to all of it.
