The Canterbury Tales is a timeless medieval classic.

People write short stories for adults it's a great way to read without taking on a whole novel or something similar.

Same with short films, there are a ton of good ones for free on youtube which are great when compared to just a normal long video.

I think one of the masters of the short story is Edgar Allen Poe, has a ton of great ones like The Cask of Amontillado.
