Fuk Mozilla. srs
https://blog.mozilla.org/en/mozilla/...deplatforming/
Read that shît above. I don't care what side of the political isle you are on, but this is overstepping what I want in a browser development company.
Guess it's going to be Brave and/or Vivaldi browsers on all my devices.
They beyond fuked the Android version anyway.

But as reprehensible as the actions of Donald Trump are, the rampant use of the internet to foment violence and hate, and reinforce white supremacy is about more than any one personality. Donald Trump is certainly not the first politician to exploit the architecture of the internet in this way, and he won’t be the last. We need solutions that don’t start after untold damage has been done.
Changing these dangerous dynamics requires more than just the temporary silencing or permanent removal of bad actors from social media platforms.
Additional precise and specific actions must also be taken:
Reveal who is paying for advertisements, how much they are paying and who is being targeted.
Commit to meaningful transparency of platform algorithms so we know how and what content is being amplified, to whom, and the associated impact.
Turn on by default the tools to amplify factual voices over disinformation.
Makes me want to puke. srsChanging these dangerous dynamics requires more than just the temporary silencing or permanent removal of bad actors from social media platforms.

There's sort of a tenuous argument out there about using non Chromium browsers for competition and to keep Google at a distance, but Mozilla is fuking whatever integrity they had.

People still use Firefox? I thought that went the way of the Nutscrape Navigator.
Only one I really have issue with is the "Turn on by default the tools to amplify factual voices over disinformation."
"Facts" are easy to manipulate and who is the fact checker?
I actually think if they reveal who is paying for advertisements, it would reveal that people like Bloomberg and Soros are pushing ultra-left agendas with big $$$.

Actually I completely agree with the first 2 concepts:
And the last one
Reveal who is paying for advertisements, how much they are paying and who is being targeted.
Commit to meaningful transparency of platform algorithms so we know how and what content is being amplified, to whom, and the associated impact.
Anonymous speech is extremely harmful 99% of the time. Most of social media has been subverted by enemies of America, big corporations, political super PACs, and other bad actors.Commit to meaningful transparency of platform algorithms so we know how and what content is being amplified, to whom, and the associated impact.
And the last one
Turn on by default the tools to amplify factual voices over disinformation.
I am neutral on. There's both good and bad things about identifying experts and trusting them over non-experts.

I'm not wanting to argue, though, I just hope others look deeper into some of these things and not blindly follow "but we're making the internet safer/better."
I appreciate you contributing to this thread

Brave crew for the last 2.5 years. Opera before that.
Still use Opera mini on some sites and when I'm on cell data.

When misc dies I believe it's time to just read pre-2012 books, play older video games, work out, meditate, and write. I have no desire to listen to any company preach to me and I can't stand advertisements even without all the woke chit. I'm at a point where if I see something advertised I refuse to buy it, the only exception being some restaurants since that would completely stop me from being able to eat out.
