US is consumed by the Military Industrial Complex
Eisenhower warned everyone about this but I guess it fell on deaf ears.
Recent events in Afghanistan highlight how deep and corrupt western nations have become. Private weapon companies like Lockheed AMrtin are balls deep and have dictated the US Gov for far too long.
All your foreign wars are nothing but a money-making scheme for these companies and the saddest thing is hardly anyone sees it.
Wake up boyos.

Eisenhower was our greatest president since the turn of the Twentieth Century.

Its between them and the CIA for who can kill the most US citizens and simultaneously have those same families praise them. Hasnt been a major event since the 50's involving those two that isnt covered in conspiracy and unbelievable series of coincidences.

absolutely agree that it's a problem but it's become our way of life at this point. Main reason we enter wars especially the Middle East conflicts. Apparently a huge motivation for the Iraq/Afghanistan invasions were weapons testing and data collection.
Unfortunately like someone already posted, the MIC generates wealth like no tomorrow as we lease/sell our weapons to other countries, and the military technologies funded by the alphabet agencies eventually integrate into our commercial technologies. We can't just stop military spending as that would cripple one of our largest economic sectors. It's a double-edged sword because Americans end up being killed in wars while American businesses prosper. Basically, it's already too late for Ike.
