Any Oklahomans here?

Looking to relocate my family, and OK is on our list of states we’re considering.

We have young kids and would prefer a rural area, but still reasonably close to civilization. Somewhere in the 5-25 acres range for property size would be preferred, but we’re open to pretty much whatever.

What areas of the state should we be looking into?

Any major pros or cons to living in OK that you feel are worth mentioning?

We’re full brah.

But srsly I’d suggest the northeast area of the state. Much greener/hilly with tons of lakes and very low population. Biggest pro or con would be the whole state is very red, even the cities. Covid has been over here since May 2020. Tulsa and OKC are essentially just like big standalone suburbs of Dallas.

Thanks man, appreciate the feedback. Will focus on northeast OK during my search.

The fact that OK is overwhelmingly conservative is one of the main reasons that we’re considering it.

Any idea if the public schools have lost their minds in terms of Covid restrictions? Seems to be the case in most states, even red ones.

I don’t want my kids wearing masks forever.

I don’t have kids but I work with a bunch of people who do in several districts so I somewhat pay attention. Masks are not required unless the Governor declares a state of emergency (he won’t) but parents that are upset have the option of keeping their kids remote.
