Your opinion of good is subjective...those brands do not have good history of reliability. We do have a BMW, however, most of our collection is made up of Acura/Honda & Toyota.

IMO, good cars.

They only care about driving in circles and in straight lines. They are fat so don't fit in normal cars. They like also buy cars as pseudo dink extensions.

I agree but with a good German car you won’t have to fix much before reaching 200k kms.

Honda crew checking in. My 2005 Honda Accord with 150k miles keeps going strong. My wife's BMW X5, Cadillac SRT, and Chevy Terrain all suck and have had issues while my old Honda keeps humming along.

Americans prefer reliable cars like Toyotas and Lexus.

Or, reliable trucks like Toyotas and Fords.

Just lol if you're buying Euro over Honda/Acura or Toyota/Lexus.

Approaching 150k in my Acura and the only thing I've done is the basic maintenance.

And before you spout on about the euro hyper cars, yes they are incredible, but the vast majority of euros drive vespa scooters, or little gay Peugeot.

Even the BMWs over there are weak, stupid little 3 series diesel wagons. Never see the M series over there (BTW, the USA is the largest market for the M series cars)

I like trucks. Kinda useless living in Va beach atm - but when I go back home to TN it's great. Drive down to the lake bed to go fishing, drive up torn up gravel/dirt roads to beautiful spots, pull a boat, etc.

I do love fast cars. But for me, I think the perfect combo is a truck and a motorcycle.

brb can't start my car because my rear view mirror light sensor is 0.004 volts out of range
brb driving a rental because I'm waiting on a part to ship from Europe
brb paying $2000 to replace a rear view mirror light sensor because the mechanic has to take the entire interior out

german car guy but lol at this, too true.

currently have a check engine light on my porsche because the outside air temperature reading is like 6 degrees off. now my overengineered vehicle can't calculate how much air the engine needs and its 0.00001% less efficient so "please take your car in for service." every time I get in.

had an old Audi that lost a $30 sensor and you had to pull half the engine out to replace it.

Plenty of those around, they're just expensive luxury cars that cost an arm and a leg to fix. They aren't practical, so you see many people drive Hondas and Toyotas. Americans have good muscle cars, and of course we have the best trucks.

And **** BMW's with a rusty spoon

Yeah, it's a bit crazy.

I was being a bit cheeky with my comment, but it was loosely based in truth. My brother was a Mercedes mechanic and I couldn't believe some of the stories he told me.

They had to rip out half the interior of a car once to get the carpet out so they could install a seat belt sensor that was preventing the car from starting. Dude had to legit tow it in and wait a couple of weeks. Repair ended up costing him over a grand.

To be fair, I have a Ford Fusion. I was having some AC problems. Was going to try to repair myself. Did some internet searching and figured it was a bad sensor. Sensor cost like $30 as well, but you had to remove the entire dashboard to get to it...

Ended up taking it to a dealership for a different issue I was having and had them fix the AC too, which turned out to be something else as the issue, but still cost over a grand to fix the AC.
