Social Anxiety Is Preventing Me From Working

Are there any jobs that require minimal human interaction and are very easy? Every single job sounds difficult for me to do. I am not good at dealing with people, I have ADD so it’s hard for me to learn how to do many tasks that I am not interested in, I have insomnia so it’s hard for me to remain on a good sleeping schedule, my social anxiety can be awful, I’m often depressed, etc. However I am almost broke, and I need money. I’m seriously considering trying to get on disability but that’s not even enough money.

I’ve never had a real job, previously I was doing yard work and delivering menus for pizzerias, and it’s been years since I did that. I managed to save up a few grand that I have slowly been chipping away at, but I’m down to my last few hundred dollars.

I was given a job as a security guard, I went through the job interview and everything. However I had to go to security training which was two 8.5 hour classes which required you to wear a mask the entire time. It also cost something like 80$ to do, and I also had to get finger printed which cost like 45$. So I just bailed on the entire thing, mainly because I can’t wear a mask that long.

I just need to figure something out, I am practically in the same boat I was in when I was 17 years old. Nothing has changed for me.

Holocaust denial is illegal in over 18 countries. if an organized killing of jews happened so definitely, why would people need to serve prison sentences for questioning it?

Night shift at Walmart. You have to interact with your coworkers though but hardly any customers. You spend the whole shift just stocking shelves. Good pay and benefits for full timers. Worked at one when I was younger. Manual labor type of job so it's difficult but time goes by quick. And you don't have to go to the gym if you're a work horse like me. Good job for people with little work history.

Assuming not rollbread but ask your provider about "bus-pi-rone" + an anti-depressant(both treat anxiety)

I went to a psychiatrist, she prescribed me something and I refused to take it, I won’t take any medication they try to prescribe me. I would rather work through it on my own. I can push past the anxiety when I’m comfortable enough, I boxed at a boxing gym for years and had to be somewhat social there. But being social in a job setting with customers is different.

I was diagnosed with ADD, the fact that I have depression and social anxiety was never debated by a psychiatrist. As for insomnia, I was never diagnosed officially but I sometimes stay up 20-30 hours straight, I do this every 2-3 weeks. Sometimes more, sometimes less. I'm often up all night and morning and then sleep all afternoon and evening. I function off of little sleep as well.

I second the recommendation to find a data entry job...you can move into a project coordinator-type role from there in some industries.

Also recommend treating your social anxiety so it doesn't hinder your employment opportunities down the line.

Best of luck bro!

This thread is serious, I am a frequent poster on here. Anybody who knows my posts know I’m not the trolling type.

I don’t spend a ton of time on the internet. I guess the political situation contributes to me having depression, but that is all based in reality and getting of the internet doesn’t change that. Being on the misc is like a safe refuge.

The first drug I mentioned has zero side effects for most people and is an effective anxiolytic that directly treats social anxiety as well as GAD

It's also extremely cheap & non-habit forming

I try to, but at the end of the day when you are done distracting yourself with activities and hobbies, you are alone with your thoughts and you see and read what is going on and you get flooded with such despair sometimes. I have a girl I’ve been seeing, from Europe. She’s gonna come see me soon, I want to have a life with her. I can’t expect her to want to be with me long term when I’m living like a total metalhead scumbag. I’m lucky girls like me despite my issues. My relationship of 5 years recently ended and I’m actually happy about that, but I’m sure much of the reason that didn’t work was because I never got my life together.

Alright, I’ll see what I can do. I have to find a new psychiatrist, I was kind of kicked out of the one I was going to, or a more accurate way of explaining it is the psychiatrist got angry with me and lost her temper. So I laughed at her, I told her maybe she needs some medicine and left. She thought I’d come back but I never did. She basically flipped out because she is a leftist and I was out debating her and she flipped out, started screaming, and called me a hateful racist.

How old are you? What is your education level? What political situation is contributing to your depression and anxiety? Why are you not taking medication that a psychiatrist prescribed?

Just curious what was the discussion about?

Just based on your username have you considered being a hitman? Don't usually need to work with many people often, typically 1-2 at a time, not a lot of speaking.
