What happens in Afghanistan on September 1st? Predictions ITT
Taliban have made it clear that they will not extend the August 31st deadline and by all reports, there is absolutely no way to evacuate all Americans in the next 6 days.
What do you think will happen after August 31st?

Biden made it clear he wouldn't extend the deadline and Taliban are no longer allowing Afghans to escape...so everyone there is f*cked.

My money is on mass execution by heinous method of all the US collaborationists that the TaliChad has been rounding up for the past few weeks.
Probably mostly peaceful chants of "Death to America!" and flag-burnings.

Taliban is not retarded, they are on the precipice of getting everything that they want. I think they'll just allow the Americans to leave, literally zero upside for inviting any retaliation.

I just can't see how mass executions would be in their favor. The Taliban didn't sit around for 20 years just for two weeks of glory and then to be wiped off the face of the earth. Yes they're terrorists and savages but they also can't be oblivious to what would happen to them if they pulled something like that.

To those in this thread wishful thinking that the Taliban is going to play nice, you do not know these people well, do you? They are all about force. Biden appears weak, killing Americans is a show of force and so far they have nothing reason to fear this administration. They're slaughtering their own people who were so benign as to just work as translators for Americans, they view them as occupiers and they are going to make an example out of them. It's heartbreaking and sad.
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

All Hitler had to do was not invade Poland. All Saddam had to do was not invade Kuwait. All Napoleon had to do was not invade Russia. All Austria had to do was not invade Serbia.

Then just trisect that wasteland and administer it like Germany after WWII. Those goatphuckers have lost the right to self-determination and self-governance in my opinion. The army America trained for two decades melted away in the face of minor opposition (300,000 vs. 35,000) in less than 100 days. Absolutely insane hole domination by the TaliChad TBH.

The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.

Americans were so inundated with the bullchit narrative around "muh Russian election hacking" (I'm not trying to suggest they didn't interfere but lol if you think America doesn't do the same thing back to them) and Russians are largely white, those two things mean most Americans refuse to look to Russia as a potential ally, when culturally and geopolitically they are far closer to America (and really, Europe) than China.
But absolutely female miscer tier delusional American foreign policy has pushed them right in China's arms and now they are getting their chit pushed in from both sides. When push comes to shove, Russia is going to defend Russia. America should respect that and help them counter the yellow menace srs.

I've seen that China already is busy in the region with resource extraction, and not sure how far the Kremlin is willing to let that go as China's military grows larger. But I do think it's mistake for the West to alienate Russia at a time when we need to pull them closer to us because of China. Politics never makes sense though... most of Corporate America & our hand-cuffed Political Establishment still has no problem doing business with them and no interest in ripping off the band-aid.

I suspect it's eventually going to get to a point where they are going to have to start considering selling off part of Siberia just to keep the lights on, localized inflation is getting crazy. Home prices are up like 50% from 3-4 years ago. Groceries are twice as expensive. All kinds of stuff like that. Russia has a low debt, but they are bad at playing the modern hide-the-bag money games that have helped America and China stimulate growth.
Putin put some new amendments in the constitution that make it a criminal act for any Russian politician to support giving away or selling Russian land, but as many Russians have pointed out, if the president has the power to snap his fingers and add something to the constitution, the next one will have the power to snap his fingers and take it out.
Russia needs to wake the phuck up to and sit down at the table, but I firmly believe they will if the US extends the olive branch and approaches them as an equal. Respect and "face" are pretty important concepts in Russian culture as well.

This was clearly more to hurt US citizens with the excuse of Russian sanctions
What are the major sanctions that the US has against Russia?

The US has lost a tremendous amount of respect around the world. Biden says that the Taliban won't allow terrorist groups to form in Afghanistan. That's verifiably false. The Haqanni network is a main arm of the current Taliban administration. They are very sympathetic to some jihadist groups throughout the middle east.
Holding Afghanistan kept a boot on the necks of Pakistan, Iran, China, and terrorist groups in central asia. Losing it is an enormous geopolitical failure by the Biden administration.

Anyway, the sanctions are working brah. The economy is really having a hard time. Most companies are being iced on the European market because they CBA to work with a stigmatized (even if not directly sanctioned) company.
It's hard to find cheddar cheese here srs. Beef is almost $10/kg (twice the US price). Gas is equivalent (but PPP is way less). Already mentioned home prices. All that chit comes back to sanctions homey. Don't get me wrong, Russians are smart people-- they figure out how to make it work. But macro indicators mean something too.
They have a loophole where they ship chit in through Belarus but dumbass Lukashenko phucked that up by grounding a European flight with some ****gotpolitical blogger he wanted to persecute on it so now that LARP is coming to an end.
Anyway you get the idea. The democracies sanction together, so even if the US "can't hurt Russia," someone can-- and chances are, they have the US military keeping them safe (Germany, Turkey), rely on our military tech (Israel), or just don't like Russia (the Baltic states).
