HVAC brahs GTFIH

I need all new ductwork in my house. About 90’ of main trunk (sheet metal) and 11 vents totaling about 160’ of off shoots for those. I only have one return. What’s your typical cost for replacing something like this. Got an estimate for $5,000 and my jaw dropped. Seems ridiculously steep for that but only got the one estimate…are materials really that high?

Seems a little steep, but there's a lot of factors you never mentioned. Finished ceilings? Is that including new furnace? Plenum? Too many factors to give you a good idea if that a fair price or not

Not to Mention trying to crawl around tight attics one wrong move you fall thru the ceiling.

I used to do R&R on ducting **** is hot up there, you can pass out...

They would use flex duct get other quotes and see about adding a return grille more return air is a good thing.

Do you need this done right now ? Better to get work done like that off season when we aren't slammed and prices are up
