best action movie series. is it die hard, leathel weapon, fast and furious, or

highlander, dirty harry etc etc


i know these films are grounded in different genres but they are all action films.

which of these are the best?

if i forgot a series throw it in but compare it to the above list.

I like the Bourne movies but Lethal Weapon series is better than Die Hard even though Bruce Willis>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Mel Gibson.

The first few Tom Clancy movies are tough to top. Franchise was ruined when they cast Ben Affleck, but it's not the only franchise to have suffered that fate.

James Bond movies probably the GOAT action franchise though.

As a stand alone movie, it’s the original Die Hard easily. Probably the best action film ever made.

As a series it’s more subjective. Most series have one or two good movies with a bunch of bad ones. Die Hard 1&3 were great, the others not so much. First couple Lethal Weapons were great but the last one sucked.

agreed first Die Hard is best but as a series some others are better.


^^Above on Bond, yes obviously GOAT I didn't even think about Bond movies because its in a whole different category for me.

Agree with this.

I think the Bourne series is the most cohesive/best storyline. But I'm okay with a stupid popcorn movie so long as it isn't TOO stupid in relationship to how entertaining it is to the point it isn't enjoyable.

I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that movies have some sweet spots and there is a dead zone where a movie is either too stupid or not over the top stupid enough- aka "so bad it's good".
