Do you prefer to watch boxing or MMA?

Me I prefer boxing because even though they rarely happen, when you do see a great boxing match its truly epic.

Boxing shoots itself in the foot by not making the big fights and being so fragmented but when you see a real war with multiple knockdowns on either side and a brutal ko it's something special.

You don't see that very often in MMA and I think the future of the sport is gonna be more and more BJJ/Wrestling dominant which is more of a tactical affair.

Funny that in all forms of fighting the most dominant usually doesn't mean much excitement, it's the same in boxing also.

Boxing all day. MMA is cool when you get people like machida and old connor mcgregor mixing it up. Annoying to see them wrestle on the ground for 3+mins. It sucks that nowadays boxers dont wanna risk losing their 0. Still waiting for spence vs crawford.

When MMA fights are mostly stand up striking brawls, nothing beats it.

And I say this as a former high school wrestler but the grappling parts of MMA simply can’t match the excitement of back and forth striking whether it be in MMA or Boxing. It puts kind of a halt to the action when you see two MMA fighters beating each other up on the feet and then one guy lands a takedown. The whole energy of the fans watching just drops off a cliff and you’re just waiting and hoping for the fight to get back on the feet.

I don’t think boxing will ever return to its glory days because of the lack of characters like Tyson, Ali, Foreman, etc. And the promoters keep the big fights everyone wants to see from happening. MMA is as evolved as fighting can get since it encompasses nearly every martial art on the planet. And since Dana White controls all the promotions, it’s great for the fans because we get to see most of the fights we want. But not so good for the fighters because the pay is sh!t compared to boxing.

Boxing literally needs two youtuber brothers, MMA fighters, and washed up 50+ year old former champs to generate interest. That’s how desperate that sport is now.

Boxing is boring af. Its also almost as fake as WWF with all the corruption.

MMA is often boring, but then there will be good fights. Womens fights are usually better. Sloots gonna sloot.

I love to watch both, but I prefer to watch MMA if I had to pick one. Originally my dream was to get into MMA, I started out with No Gi Jiu Jitsu and folkstyle wrestling in school. But there wasn’t many good options for MMA gyms in Buffalo, however there are plenty of really good boxing gyms in the area. So the boxing gym I was going to for my striking ended up becoming the place where I trained almost exclusively and before I knew it, I was pretty committed to boxing on and off for a few years. But I haven’t been to a boxing or MMA gym in nearly 5 years and I’m gonna be 25 soon, so I think that shipped has sailed for me unfortunately. However there was a time they were both my passions. I still hit the bag, jump rope, and shadow box etc to keep the rust off though.

Boxing's great, I enjoyed the match-up between Paul and Woodley the other day plus the Montana Love Boranchyk fight.

That being said, it's corrupt and there's a lot less potential outcomes in it. MMA is more exciting because anything could happen, outcomes aren't as obvious pre-fight usually. A lot of mma fights could be coin flips and you have no idea how they'll end

MMA > boxing all day

MMA no doubt but I do enjoy watching boxing also, but I don't follow it anywhere near as closely as I follow MMA.

I'm a complete tourist with zero knowledge or understanding of the skills involved, so basically either one if its a couple of guys knocking the absolute chit out of each other.

MMA. Boxing is so painfully one dimensional and boring to watch.
