I need to finally watch this show have always heard about it especially on the misc.
The crazy thing is I remember one of my friends dad would watch it when it would air back when HBO was on regular cable before it became premium twenty years ago!
Of course my friend, and I were only 13 at the time so we didn't even really understand it just thought it was some boring war show lol we would get bored, and then go and play Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2.

the scene where they meet that German soldier from Oregon is what I always think of first when I am reminded of the show, for whatever reason.

That intro music still haunts me though, I passed out a few times watching the show late at night only to wake up to the intro blaring

Pacific is much worse, introduces drama which pivots away from the brotherhood and war.
But it probably appeals to a female audience more.

I was surprised when I watched it for the first time 8 or so years ago. Didn't realize a short ww2 show like this would be so intense. Still remember how I binged the whole thing in 2 days. I was pissed when I found out there was no more seasons planned.

Think I have the only unpopular opinion that it wasn't that good? Been a while since I watched it but after a while it was just pointless battle scene after battle scene, not really much in the way of character or story. To compare it as a series to the usual BB, Sopranos, etc I thought it was lacking as a series
I really think Americans just voted the hell out of it on IMDB as a response to 9/11

How can you compare BoB to such mediocre shows? Sopranos, sure, I can see it being in some people's top list, but BR is like upper middle class at best

Watched it when it first came out on hBO, and got it on DVD for Christmas so I could rewatch it several times. Was amazed and enthralled. Right around that time a WW2 European theater based half-life mod called Day of Defeat was released and I was obsessed with WW2 playing that chit and watching band of brothers. Not to mention I was pretty heavily into the history channel and at the time 90% of their programming was about WW2 and Hitler. Pretty funny to look back at my childhood around 1998-2003 and how much of my attention was focused on a short period of time that happened 50 years before I even existed.

Love both the show and the movie "Saving Private Ryan" (1998).
