Why do Pharmacists Get Paid 100K+

A computer can do most of their job. All they have to do is relay information to senior citizens.

Most that I’ve met range from brain dead to mediocre intelligence.

The only thing that justifies their 100k+ salary is their own opinion of themselves.

Please explain.
Any pharmacists here?

A good pharmacist seems to know more than some of the quack family doctors. Seen a number of times where the pharmacists have found potential OD's and medications that should not be mixed in doctors percriptions.

I think you answered your own question

They get paid $100k because their job is not particularly difficult or physically or intellectually demanding or dangerous

If the job was in demand or required significant qualifications they’d get paid more

Yes. The electronic medical record can pretty much issue a warning even as wrong medication combinations are prescribed. Even doctors will be obsolete eventually

You'd think the quack GP's would start using them then. They need them.

In reality though if they could completely automate all pharmacies, big pharma would jump up the price of pills overnight and you'd save nothing in the end.

100k is a lot of money bro.
Let's not get stuck in our 1st world problems.

For those of us who are lucky enough to be paid 100k to 200k, I think we should be thankful unless we're working 100 hours a week.

No they don’t

Lazy ****s don’t last in my ibew local vato

We’re considered a “worm” farm in the IBEW because of how hard we’re worked and the **** our foremen make us do that violate our CBA

Working until almost the last minute , sometimes working through break if we’re in a hurry , sometimes staying 10 minutes late to finish cleaning up or locking **** up before signing out , etc

Don’t get me started on how other local halls bitch about having to wear tool bags or supply their own power tool bits and blades. It’s expected here.

My passive aggressive foreman chewed my ass out because I walked an extra 40 feet to grab my half drank energy drink before grabbing my material on the way back for my next task.

He micromanages the **** out of you.

I told him to stop being passive aggressive and to say something if two quick piss breaks a day and other small **** bother him so much.

****ing crybaby. We already work hard af and work almost 5 minutes into our breaks everyday on average.

That’s SoCal ibew culture though except LA , LAs 50/50.

I kinda like it like that. Keeps the liberal and ultra PC globohomo pussies from other locals up north from trying to sign book 2 or Jam their ticket( change their home local) here.

Generally speaking that's how it's supposed to be

When I order medication for a patient in the hospital the pharmacy double checks interactions & calculates the IV flow rates for the nurse

Check & balance system; it's impossible for a person to memorize the thousands of possible medication interactions/dosage variations

If anything your local pharmacists are underpaid; they're responsible for human life and are prone to robberies

That's a really good question OP.

If you really want to know. Just go to a pharmacist and ask them if they are willing to help you understand why they make what they do for a uni research project. That's the best way to know - first hand experience. Srs.

But I do know one thing, certain chemicals are to be highly respected or they can easily kill you in very low dosages(fentynle).

I mean why does the wind blow? Why does some El salvadorian guy gets paid peanuts compared to the guy in America making 3 times that. It just is.

Lots of jobs out there get paid ridiculous amounts for less. Just depends on whos throat you are willing to step on to get it.

They actually need to be knowledgeable when it comes to drugs. I was seeing three specialists at one time and they all prescribed medications, when I went to go fill them at the pharmacy, the pharmacist noticed two of the drugs were contraindicated. It wouldn't have killed me, but it definitely wouldn't have been good. They're there for that added failsafe, in case the doctors make mistakes, in my opinion.

They work in the medical industry. It doesn't matter what they do, there is so much free money flowing in from every direction that some of it has to end up in their pockets.
They got little baby legs that stand so low
