Do you remember where and how you heard about the 9/11 attacks?

I was 11 (4th grade) at the time and didn’t find out until I got off the school bus at my grandma’s and turned on the TV to watch The Maury Show.

May we never forget.

Do you remember?

Lived in California. I woke up late since I was on vacation after finishing up a project at work. I logged in to check my e-mails and make the rounds of the usual sites. Saw it on drudgereport first. The attacks had been over for a few hours by then. I still remember how surreal it was and then noticing no planes in the sky for next several days. I would regularly see planes flying into and out of SJ International just above my back fence. The airport was maybe 15 miles away. Their absence was spooky.

3rd grade. Lived about 10 miles from the city. Half the class ended up going home early.

Working in receiving at the food store. Frito Lay guy told me that a plane crashed into one of the twin towers, told him to fuk off with that stupid chit. He shrugged his shoulders and left the back room..

I went out a couple minutes later and the store was dead quiet… went upstairs into the break room and everyone was watching the tv and I was like “wtf is even happening”..

Crazy af man. Was supposed to go to circuit city and buy a computer that day too after work..

Switched on a early 50's bakelite tube radio in the afternoon and instead of music or whatever was usually on it was news. Went through the whole dial and was like WTF then I listened to what was going on and couldn't believe it.

yeep. was 16, a junior in hs i think and was sitting in c-byrd's class, maybe 3rd, 4th period. he could tell how big of a deal it was at the time and was already talking about the death toll.

in 7th period they made an announcement that the school had nothing to worry about and that it appeared it was isolated.

Who gives a chit where you were or how you felt. It’s not about you. All over social media, people making posts about where they were and what they were doing. Who gives a fuk, it’s about remembering the people we lost, not you.

On my way to class, local AM dj reported a plane just hit the WTC. Thought it was a small plane from the sounds of it. When I got to class a dude said he just heard a plane hit the Pentagon. I said no it was the WTC. Went back home after and turned on news to see what was really going on...

Working in a government building-somebody came up from the floor below & said a plane had flown into the towers, I said it was likely somebody had a heart attack or lost control somehow. Then she came back up about 30 minutes later & said a second one had flown in. Some woman there was paranoid every time a plane was flying by after that.

I just know I was at home probably faked sick to video game maxx and my mom was in the other room and called me over to watch it happen on CNN.

Looking back, CNN, used to be a go to news source, when did it become fake news? Or was I just a naive cuck and it always was.

My Junior year, I had smoked weed before, but this was the first time I'd ever smoked before school. I was paranoid enough already, then they announced what happened over the intercom and put the tv's on etc... All I could think was "was it cuz I got high?"you neva know

I was living in my first place and my grandmother called me and told me to turn on the TB because we are being attacked. I was like no, some horrible plane crash like they lost control of the plane. Then the second one hit and I knew grandma was right. Then the pentagon got hit. We were wondering about what was next.

Yeah I was a 7'th grader getting ready for school in the morning, it was actually early in that school year, and I just remember my parents freaking out, and this piece of chit friend of mine at the time trying to joke about it on the school bus ride in the morning. School was weird that day, like the teachers didn't know what to do. It was hard to really grasp the situation at that age.

Was watching it on TV in the living room of a dorm suite with girlfriend. Mom was at work in NYC, couldn't get in touch with her. Crazy stuff!

I was in first grade. Funny story though, I think I have a mandela effect in my timeline (srs)

First grade I had Mr. B, cool hippie dude that has us meditate at the beginning of class.

Thing is, I remember they put up the attacks on tv, and we all as kids saw that. My teacher got a call on her phone, and she started crying and stormed out the room to get her son (he went to the same school) and had him with us in the classroom. This teacher was my kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Lopez. I remember clearly.. but that is impossible, because I was in kinder garten 1999-2000, and I was in first grade starting August 2001. But the events happened when I was in kindergarten, remember clear as day, the teacher freaking out over the phone, her getting her kid from another class, while they just left the TVs on for us to watch.

Chit is crazy and to the day IDK how in the fuk this happened
