Who's an actor or actress you can't understand how they keep getting roles?

For me its Kathryn Newton



She played the role of a 15 year old girl pretty well in Paranormal Activity 4, but that was because she was a 15 year old girl.

Since then I've seen her in various things and I've never seen her put in a good performance in anything. In fact it's repeated bad, wooden performances to the point she ruins anything she's in.

She's been cast in the Mcu now which is just crazy to me, and even though she's like 25 now, she still exclusively plays teenage girl roles.

She's cute, yeah, but she's not like mind blowingly beautiful to the point you can say she's getting cast solely on looks.

I think she must have dirt on some Hollywood execs, especially as she broke into the industry as like 14-15 year old in the weinstein era, that's the only thing that adds up to why she has a career.

For real. Sansa was the most blah character despite having, on paper, an interesting and emotionally pulling storyline. I blame it on the actress too, anything she was in after that was a bad performance in my mind, including the X-Men chit.

Also funny how Jennifer Lawrence is in the same "young prequel" X-Men movies too. Though I liked her a bit in the Hunger Games, not the worst actress.

Robert Pattinson played Cedric Diggory bro. He was the kid that got murdered during the Goblet of Fire challenge in the Triwizard Tournament.

He also is AMAZING in the movie “Good Time” which I believe is available on Netflix or Prime. He’s a serious actor.

Yes, again this is an actor who isn’t just a campy dumpster fire or a one-note comedian.

Jonah Hill in Maniac was extremely good. I don’t know if it was the writing, or just how they produced and directed it, but he seemed like a totally different person and it was a mind-blowing experience watching it.

He seems likeable and down to Earth, which if genuine means he's probably professional and easy to work with. Not saying it's the biggest factor but if you have a choice of two A-listers and one is a prima donna and the other will show up on time and do the job without fighting with the director, you'll take the latter.
