Sometimes it's easy to look at the past and focus on the really good times and the way you felt about a certain person, but at the end of the day, there was probably a good reason it didn't work out. Focus on going forward and use what you learned from the past relationship to have a better one in the future.

If you get back with an ex, there is a HUGE chance that you will fight about stuff you fought about before because one person (or both) can't or won't get over it. Better off to just start fresh.

I've had 2 ex's that ended up coming back as fukbuddies after about a year of NC, but why would you want to actually date an ex again?

Like somebody else said, if you left her, maybe there’s a shot. If you’re coming at it from the angle of ‘getting her back’ your tour is over for sure.

That said, even if you did take her back, it would take a tremendous amount of growth and maturity to not run into the same problems as before. What are the chances you both spent your time apart developing yourselves to that degree? Slim, imo. That’s why it usually doesn’t work when ppl get back together—most lack the capacity to really change themselves for the better.

Ex who dumped me for another guy eventually came sniffing around at the one year mark. I was religious with NC and then started dating someone else. But I wouldn't give her the time of day and I think she was just getting jealous I met someone else hotter and didn't chase her.

The two Exs that I dumped, came back multiple times. **** is hard when they are still pretty, telling me how much they missed me and I wasn't getting laid yet. (Because I'm not a monkey brancher). I probably should have been much better at NC with the girls I dumped, but I thought it would be fine since I was the one who walked away. Those feels still come back if you dont give yourself enough time to let go of them.

Also, unless there was sufficient time away and growth on both ends... same problems will come back into the relationship. I'm not saying getting back together doesn't work. Just that its hard. Sometimes easier to improve yourself and remember that there are other women out there. All is easier said than done.

Yep, I made that mistake. It seemed like a good idea/easy at the time from being in a slump and bored and it was maybe 8 years since we'd dated so maybe she had grown. I realized she had become even more terrible than I'd remembered and exited again after ~3 months.
Would not recommend, waste of time and stress

The reason I ask is because we broke up totally because of my fault. Thing is, she won’t talk to me, but prior to blocking me she told me she wants to try again in the future and was pissed when she heard a rumor I was smashing some chick, but the chick is jsut a friend

If she left you, then no chance.

If you left her, then chance, but you left her for a reason.

The past has a way of putting on the rose-tinted glasses.

I've done it twice before. Would not recommend/10
