It’s baron harkkonen still a bloatlord twink bottoming grizzly?

I read dune in one sitting first time I picked it up, all through the night and into the next day where I passed out on the bus coming home from school.

Just rewatched the old movie a few months ago. Wife was just like “what in the fuk are you watching”

Fukking stoked

For us who know nothing about Dune, what’s the premise?

OP, is the movie leftist?

Wait, this movie is actually out already?

No spoilers please. Does it have some political agenda that movies can't seem to go without these days? Is the story good? I know nothing about Dune.

Edit: Just watched the trailer. While the visuals look absolutely incredible, I get a strong "evil race of white people trying to dominate and rave a more wholesome, colored race of people" vibe... yet again. When the hell is this going to stop? Lol please tell me it's not another one of those.

No.

Kind of spoiler but more general plot

Spoiler!

Galactic emperor or whatever is scared of house atreides growing power and has them moved to desert planet where the spice is mined. The spice is an all powerful drug that allows faster then light speed travel via advanced alien folding reality or some chit.

The emperor is in cahoots with the old baron of Arakis (desert planet) and they plan on slaughtering the atreides family.

Story is coming to age story and involves secrets between the native populations, the Bene gesserat witches (think women Jedi, whose prophesy is a man will come who can use their powers and be strongest among them) giant crazy worms and other stuff.

I see no possible way this can get politicized unless some retard miscer wants to have issue with bene gesserats being women (despite the one time a man develops the power he will be strongest)

Or maybe some hillbilly nut job might say it supports terrorist Arabs fighting back against America ? Idk it’s such a far stretch it’s pretty laughable.

But Herbert did base the freemen off of Arabs, because that makes sense for a desert culture. Not cuz of some statement.

That is so annoying. Why do they have to do this to every movie. Every. Single. Movie.

And they wonder why this anti-white racism thing exists. Imagine making the white guys in every big movie these evil suppressors who steal resources, the less intelligent half of the viewers begin to internalize these ideas after decades of it.

Lol, thanks Eurobrah I’ll give it a miss.

Lucky, I am really jelly. This is pretty much the only movie I’ve been looking forward to since Endgame.

I hear they do this so they can gauge reactions and do a US edit for the release here. Although the CCP censorship edit happens before any of that.
