75 Hard Habit Change Program
Any of you brahs run the 75 Hard Program? Andy Frisella, a podcaster and entrepreneur came up with it. Kind of like the non-seal version of Jocko Willinik.
Was on LinkedIn looking up a sales lead today, and this hardo I follow is on day 13. He had failed it 4 other times.
For 75 straight days, if you mess up, back to day 1.
1. No alcohol
2. Healthy diet, doesn't matter what the diet is, but not junk food.
3. Read 10 pages of a self help/business book a day. Non-fiction
4. Take a photo of yourself daily for progress
5. Drink one gallon of water today.
6. Two 45 minute workouts, with at least one being outdoors and they must be AT LEAST 3 hours apart.
It is supposed to be a mental challenge vs. physical challenge. I'm pretty good with this type of stuff once I put my mind to it. So, I decided to start today and keep a checklist.
Why? Just got back from a golf vacation, gained about 5-6 lb. eating and drinking like a Viking. Never got hammered, but a gentleman's 6-8 drink daily. Feel like, although my workouts are great, getting soft mentally.
So analyzing it, is simple for me:
1. No alcohol. Easy. I laid off the sauce for almost 6 months earlier this year. Just get through the first weekend and I'm home free. No Landmines yet, but might go to Naples in November.
2. Healthy diet. I'm going 3 squares a day. Healthy food, vegetables/fruit with every meal. No chips or sweets. If it's not in the house, I won't eat it. No cheat meals. To me, cheat meal means stuff yourself to the gills. Nope, one helping of food is still a square meal. Not hot dogs, 3 plates of Chinese food, a Mexican fiesta with tortilla chips or that type of crap. A homemade healthy pizza, not a cheat meal. Tests: Halloween and Thanksgiving
3. Read 10 pages of a business book. Simple. I can do that drinking coffee in bed in the morning. Downloaded "Think and Grow Rich."
4. Daily photo. Duh, easiest task. Get up, take a piss, charged phone is in the bathroom. Snap. Looking all of my 52 and a half years.
5. Drink gallon of water daily. This is probably the HARDEST. The good news is I work from home. 11 glasses of water will get me there. Start early. Currently 8 in at 3:30 in the PM. Going to wear out the carpet between office and bathroom.
6. Two 45 minute workouts. One being outside. For now, this is easy. Take the doggo for a walk after coffee, wait until 1 and rock up. Or on rest days, 2 45 minute walks, or yardwork. Landmine: I live in New England. Fall is rainy season and it's going to get cold soon. Might have to do some outdoor workouts in garage with the door open and suck it up.

I would rather just build good habits and destroy bad ones. No need for this odd regimen kind of stuff. Honestly it seems like some ****gy sigma male kind of bull****

Decided to do 75 Hard last Aug-Nov because I was already planning on cutting and this seemed to fit in nicely. Got really great results but wouldn't recommend it nor would I do it again. Working out twice a day is just really inconvenient unless you're unemployed without a social life or family. I went on a bachelor party to Denver and while everyone was hanging out and partying, my bish ass had to go do the second workout of the day. Prefer knocking out my lifts/cardio in the morning before work and moving on with my day.
The not drinking part was by far the most rewarding aspect of it. After a few weeks of not drinking and regular cardio I truly felt great and had infinite amounts of energy.

Congratulations on finishing. I bet you were glad it was over. How much weight did you lose?
The good news is that I don't have any social obligations such as a bachelor party that I have to get around.

2 45 minutes workouts.
Also Factoring in potential commute times for getting to a gym and/or outdoors area for the above.
10 pages of a book should hopefully take no more than 5 minutes, more if you re-read some pages.
Looks like you gotta be willing to dedicate ~2ish hours of every day to achieve this, on top of being disciplined with the water, no alcohol, healthy diet stuff. Doable for sure, but probably very inconvenient on busy days eh?

None of it is hard unless you're an alcoholic.
1st phorm is expensive and trash.
Andy Frisella is annoying as hell.
I have the book. It boils down to just not drinking alcohol.
"Healthy eating" is not in the program. It literally says just follow a diet. If my diet is only a caloric deficit then I can eat McDonald's all day. I did that when I lost 75 lbs and started hiking up mountains.
My store is 5 minutes from their HQ and I live 10 mins from there so feel free to tell him I think he's trash.
