Are legal cannabis dispensaries profitable? Srs

Would it be worth it to own one and collect the profits as a side income?

My firm does taxes for the local dispensaries and most of them do not make money. A select few kill it though. We are expecting over half our clients to fold in the next few years as the local industry is just a couple years old. A lot of the successful ones have experience in other states and moved here after legalization and will sell their operation and move to the next state and do it again.

Interesting. Any insight into the monopoly?

Lots of our clients who already have money went and put a lot of capital in their shops. Really hard to compete unless you find a niche.

I know the state taxes the ever loving chit out of them. You would have to have gotten in early. I hear it’s hard to make money. What’s funny is it’s way cheaper now than it ever was when it was illegal.

Yes, legal cannabis dispensaries can be profitable if managed effectively. Factors such as location, pricing strategy, product variety, and customer service can all impact the profitability of a dispensary. Additionally, staying compliant with regulations and maintaining a strong understanding of the market can also contribute to a dispensary's success. Overall, with proper planning and execution, legal cannabis dispensaries have the potential to be profitable ventures.
