yes a Miscer made a post on this several months ago. he said he bought one online and immediately the first night the fiberglass made him itch all night for several nights and drove him crazy until he decided to get rid of it. the manufacturer gave him all kinds of fixes and nothing worked. and the fiberglass got everywhere. sounded like a nightmare. and it was a real bitch to return it because he bought it online - not sure if he ever got a refund. i cringe thinking about it. i have a traditional mattress but i appreciated the warning. read reviews before buying!

Where there studies done on this or something? Do we know what brands are safe to use?

the Miscer was itching all night and fibers went everywhere. not sure if he's still around maybe he'll chime in. i forget his name.

People claim there is glass fibers or fiberglass under the cover. Is there?

Toast boyos!

I had a nectar mattress. yes it had a fiberglass based fire repellant. most are fiberglass no matter what manufactors tell you. They are not required to reveal what type of fire barrier they use. you can order a mattress without fire retardant only if you get a prescription from your doctor. If the cover says do not remove, its definetly got fiberglass in it. The safer method is to get a wool fire barrior. I contacted at least 26 companies and out of those 4 told me the truth about the foberglass. most called it a propietary blen casing while denying the fiberglass part. I went as far as tracking down the manufactor of the bed casing and unless it was a green or latex natural mattress with a wool fire barrier it was made with fiberglass. i was itching so bad i had to return it. good thing nectar had a 1 year trial and they refunded my money without any hassle. I will be returning the replacment mattress also as it is now making me itch. they dont make me itch until ive slept on it a few months. guessing after the firebarrier casing wears down a bit. again, manufactors are not required to reveal whats in the fire barrier or what chemicles they use. borax is a common on alsoi to deter bugs.

Are there any immediate symptoms to be aware of? We have 2 of these mattresses in our house. We have one and my son does as well. At first I thought it was comfortable but after 6 months I noticed some aches and pains. Would suck if it caused other issues. Had the opportunity to get a Sleep Number bed on my father in law but opted for something else. Now I regret that decision.

Lung damage won't be detectable for a decade or two. But then it's too late. Dead srs.
I'm tossing mine this week and bankrupting myself for a non dangerous mattress

Does your latex smell? I want to get one cause it doesn’t sleep hot at all.

I had a latex topper but had to send it back, smelt like cigarettes.
