Caught a co-worker stealing my rationale word-for-word
I told a co-worker one time that I have a rule about charity.
Let me set it up by saying this: somebody is always trying to guilt us into donating to this charity or that one. Petco wants you to donate to some dog charity. Police want you to donate. Some hurricane has hit somewhere and they want you to donate. Everybody wants some money.
But I can't be just giving away money every time someone asks, so I just have this rule that I always give to St Jude's when they ask (sometimes more, sometimes less), and that's it. That limits the number of times I actually feel obligated to donate and by default the dollars I spend.
Anyway, I told a co-worker this one time, and then I overheard her repeating my exact words back to another co-worker:
"As long as kids are dying of cancer, I can't think of a better charity to donate to. So I always give them money, and I only give them money."

-Co-worker passed off my thoughts as her own

Some people, usually incompetent, are very sneaky.
At least you learnt this without her knowing.
Don’t call her out on it but now you now to be careful what you say to her ie don’t give her work ideas she can pass off as her own work.

Yeah that sucks opie but I can't be just giving away money every time someone asks, so I just have this rule that I always give to St Jude's when they ask (sometimes more, sometimes less), and that's it. There is an unspoken thing, we are iron brothers and sisters, we are to support each other and...It is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in the iron game!

Welcome to the corporate world. No ethics or respect. That’s why I always tell everyone to avoid drama, never tell anybody how you feel about the job or the people that work there, and keep your ideas to yourself.

LMAO had a co-worker repeat my exact thoughts to our superiors regarding a recent candidate we interviewed. Problem was she also repeated the negatives too hard and ended up looking like a negative Nancy. She couldn't figure out what to filter and what to say tactfully when dealing with the big wigs.

Sounds like you made a positive influence on a co worker.
And then he took credit for it, as co workers often do.
Repped for st Judes, because I agree, they seem to use the money wisely and make a big impact on kids with cancer surviving or leading more happy lives for what time they have left. A deserving charity.

That's how it goes srs. Look at it like this, this probably happens more often than you think, but just aren't around to overhear it. This is how ideas permeate throughout a society. Had to start with somebody nahm sayin. How many of us actually only tell people completely unique ideas we thought up on our own?

Cashier: The total comes to $6.97. Would you like to round up to the nearest dollar to help the [insert fake charity here]?
