work now has a vaccine mandate policy

fuark. starting november 1st if i haven't submitted my proof of vaccination gonna have to get tested weekly, otherwise they are just going to put me on unpaid leave.

It's like $45 a pop for an antigen test so it'd be $180 a month. sucks but it is what it is. I work remote but my work is still saying i need to submit a test. I think I can get away with a PCR test which is free but it takes 3-5 days to process, just have to make sure I get an appointment booked within that time frame. But if I get called back to work at the office it'll have to do the antigen testing because those are same day and the tests are valid for 7 calendar days from the day of the test. which basically means if I get a PCR test, it's only really usable for 2-4 calendar days as I lose days waiting for the result.


thought about getting a new job because I also need to complete some hours for a certification which I've spent so much money, time and caused me a lot of stress. now I'm in danger of not meeting the requirements and could get booted off the program rip. gonna see what my options are there. i realize I'm kinda fortunate because the option to test is there where many other people were not spared from having to take the vaccine in order to work.

might be difficult to get another job here but it's gonna be made 10x harder because i'm sure more than half of them are going to require vaccination. or just outright not hire an unvaccinated person because they don't want to deal with the extra trouble and resources they have to commit to it.

Damn brah, that's some bad nooz. I'm thinking that timeline/approach is coming for my job real soon. Nothing happened here yet, but I can sense it. I would just pay for the antigen tests till this passes. $180 a month shouldn't break you, even if it's for 4-6 months. It won't be forever, and some employers I feel are forced to deploy these mandates and really don't want to lose their people. Just my 3.50 cents.

yeah I'm hoping to weather the storm, it's going to be in effect at least until January. I probably dun goofed by not finding another job a year ago because now with the mandates it's gonna be harder and I have a deadline to meet.

i don't think they are doing religious exemptions or have the framework for it right now. religion is a protected class so I would think it's a breach of rights? brb need to provide evidence of being a born again Christian. But I think they'll just have me get tested anyways. I'll just try to get away with free PCR tests (which are a pain in the ass to book and may not get it on the days needed) until I get called back into work.

How traceable are the pcr test results over there?

Here there are qr codes on but in germany you have quick pcrs that have no qr codes. If you have something similar just get tested once and then keep on sending the same test by changing the test date on pdf

accounting, enjoying is a stretch, more like I don't mind it plus I get to work at home and mess around. Pay is decent, but I need to find something else that will allow me to fulfill requirements. With the vaccine mandates, finding a job is probably going to be pretty difficult. As well it needs to be a job that will allow me to fulfill the requirements needed.

My buddy working in T.O. is one of 4 hold-outs who do not want the vax at his work. They were told they must submit tests weekly or get jabbed. They all said ok we'll do tests. Not happy that their ultimatum do not yield the desired results, management told them you must submit tests daily now. No rapid tests allowed, his work will only accept the $200+ PCR as valid proof (yes....$200 per day).

They've just done this in my state for the mining industry too have to be vaccinated by the 1st of december and the fcked thing is our state literally has 2 cases that are locked up in hotel quarantine lmao.

wow, that's absolutely phucked. you just know that it isn't about health at this point when unvaccinated people can just simply go by their day despite very easily being infected while unvaccinated people are held to the most unreasonably stringent standards like being tested daily. $200 a day is probably more than what they make, or close to it. i'd probably quit right there and give them a big f u

My sister is in a similar situation and was told to be jabbed by Sept 17 or go home. She requested that in writing, and then presented a written response in which she did not refuse, but requested further info from her company before making a decision. She presented CDC info which indicted that vaccinated people can still catch and spread covid and therefore her vaccinated coworkers would still pose a health risk in the workplace and should be held to the same standard of testing....otherwise it is discrimination.

She is still employed and nothing has been said to her so far....
