What's up with the Rastas, lol. There's tons of them where I live here in the Caribbean, it's fuking with the "medieval fantasy" setting in my brain. Lol exactly this. I was there from the start and felt proud I was a big fan talking to people about it before it blew up. Got a bunch of merch, had all the episodes in HD on my fuking phone. Season 7 left a scar but it didn't kill me. I was hoping they would fix it and go out with a bang. Then, I saw the number of episodes for season 8 and started getting nervous. There was no fuking way they could close off the story so quickly.

The part that hurt the most wasn't really a specific one of those awful moments, it's mostly how all the characters completely changed and nothing made sense anymore. It was like a dumbed down Michael Bay parody instead of something brilliant. Littlefinger and Tyrion turned into complete dumbasses. Jon Snow was involved with the White Walkers for the entire show only to give his payoff in the end to Arya who had nothing to do with them. Wasn't Jon the fuking protagonist? Bran's whole journey was literally to become a God and he ends up being useless in the fight and then they make him king? Wut? And then the walkers..... Oh my God they butchered the walkers so bad. K lemme stop now before I pop a vessel lol.

We honestly should have known something like this would happen. Seasons 1-4 were God tier. Season 5 comes and there is a big drop in quality but I brushed it off. Season 6 comes and its slightly better overall but had 3 of the best episodes in the entire series (hold the door, battle of the bastards and winds of winter) with 2 of those being the last two episodes of the season I was extremely hyped for season 7. Season 7 comes and its disappointing but the set up for season 8 looked great. We all know what happened with season 8. Like you said as soon as we found out it was only gonna be 6 episodes we should've known it would suck. The could've saved it by changing a couple things and making each of the last 2 seasons 10 episodes like the rest

I could have typed this entire post myself and it's exactly how I felt about the seasons. People hate on season 5 and 6 but those 3 episodes gave me chills and made me realise that if a TV show is high quality like that, it's so much better than a movie to me. There's much more content to get you invested in the story, setting and lore. I've been looking for something to fill the void since then and the best so far for me has been The Expanse though it still doesn't come close to peak GOT.

Why don't they make the diversity a bit realistic? Like try to tie it in with irl history and what people from the group they're trying to bring in might have been known for back in the day. In the Witcher books there were technically Arab traders (Oferis) which is in line with history around Europe. There you have a way to bring an Arab looking guy into the tv show if they wanted.

We know Witcher and GoT were both influenced by IRL history so by forcing diversity where it doesn't make sense, just makes it just less realistic and takes away from the immersion. When we know it's written in to make people happy.

I just typed that out but I couldn't care less about the show, whats the point when we know how it ended? And it ended bad. What a waste of time.

Show may not be terrible but there’s no way it will be as enthralling as the first 4 seasons of GoT. GoT was based on GRRM’s main story and had 1000’s of pages worth of material to borrow from. This show is based off GRRM’s world building lore book and does not have nearly as interesting a story to follow, so unless HBO’s writers knock it out of the park it’s just gonna be “pretty good.” Can’t wait for them to kill off a main character in the first season to try to recapture the shock value of Ned Stark.
