Prosecutor is a weird job, its the only one i can think of you can decide not to do your job, and then still get paid for it.

Like you walk into work one day and the police present you with some cases saying here prosecutor these are for you to prosecute and you can be like nah i dont feel like prosecuting today, check a box and close the case.

To be fair I think the guy who got stabbed showed up to the other guys house.

I feel like if I came out of my house and stabbed someone the first objection to that would be "Why did you not stay inside and the call 911?". Also it seemed like it was an agreed upon first fight. I don't think there was a mutual agreement to be okay with getting stabbed in the heart though.
