Will this end up as bad as Costa Rica's adoption of Bitcoin?

Might want to sell now.

3rd world countries are slowly starting to understand that Big D Bitcoin is a lot more stabile than their 3rd world Viva La Revolucion currencies.

Makes sense really. Might even encourage tourism if no need to exchange currency.
Look, you're my best friend, so don't take this the wrong way but, in 20 years if you're still here postin' in hhhnnnggg threads, beggin' for mod reps, and braggin' about whales you harpooned from POF, I'll f'in kill ya. That's not a threat, that's a fact, I'll f'in kill ya. You got somethin' none of us have, and you don't owe it to yourself man, you owe it to me. Cuz tomorrow I'm gonna wake up and I'll be red, and I'll still be a socially awkward/FA. And that's all right.

Right, meant El Salvador.

I remember how BTC took a dive and all the protests right after adoption.

I understand crypto is strictly for gambling and have made lots of money following this rule.

Way too unstable to try and use as currency.

What is this 2018? Lightning is trash LMAO. You realize other coins don't need L2 solutions because their layer 1 isn't broken, right?

Must be 2018 with this same boring trope. I've watched every network that claimed to be "the worlds first scalable blockchain with 10000000000000 TPS" fail. The trillema exists for a reason.

Lightning is apparently trash yet entire countries and social network giants are using it.

Have you ever used it? It's trash. BRB sending BTC to open a channel so I then I can actually start using lightning. BRB paying $40 in fees to send BTC or waiting days to get a cheap transaction fee when blocksize fees are low because devs intentionally kept blocksize at 1Mb in order to force people to use their lightning network. BRB seeing absolutely no conflict of interest with this "solution".

BRB other coins do instant 0 confirmation transactions securely on their layer 1.

That's not how it works. Lightning is frictionless now.

There's a fork that uses big blocks that you can use. It's called Bitcoin Cash. Head on over there. This thread is for BTChads.

"frictionless"

All I hear is buzzwords. Yet to hear a single technical argument for lightning or even answer my question if you have ever used it. I have. It's trash.

Sorry to hear bruh. Literal third worlders are using it with no problems. Maybe one day you'll be smart enough to figure it out. Maybe you're just used to early 2000s forum software UX?

LMAO. People have been tipping crypto for years. Were you not around during the dogecoin craze years ago on reddit when people would tip each other pennies for the lulz? And those transactions were going through on layer 1.

And you're telling me to get with the times because twitter integrated lightning in 2021? JFL.

Quit acting like this is breakthrough technology.

Dogecoin has 30 TPS. People send Bitcoin to each other all the time on layer 1 as well. I think your lack of understanding is making you emotional.

And they pay ridiculous fees because BTCs layer 1 is broken (8 TPS). But now we are talking in circles because I explained this to you already in one of my earlier posts.

I think the only emotional person is you because you are worried that the latest technical achievement BTC is something that most coins already do and have been doing for years.

FWIW I know BTC price is going to go up. I am pretty sure that is what you really care about. Not the technology.

Let me know what color lambo you get.

Every chain has the same problem when people actually use it. That's why it's called SCALING. Bigger block sizes lead to reduced decentralization. You realize nodes have to keep a copy of the entire chain in memory? That becomes expensive. This is why it's called the blockchain trillema.

And one of the solutions is easy. Raise block size limit. Not shuffle people off to layer 2 solutions that go through 3rd parties that pretend to be non-custodial.

What is bitcoin cash blocksize limit now? 32MB or something? Chugging along with 32 times greater transaction capacity compared to BTC, all while remaining P2P, while transaction fees are 1/100 of a penny. I think there are other coins that have even greater capacity than this if I am not mistaken.
