I was honestly kind of surprised to hear that white people watched the same shows we did srs. Got buddies that watched Sanford and Son and The Jeffersons growing up. And my wife's family is really into Madea. Even I hate Madea srs

The solution IMO is to unplug completely from the media as anything more then satire and even then be extremely careful engaging with their CIA Vietnam style propaganda/disinformation campaigns.

I just think the black community is fed up with police officers killing blacks that are unarmed and resisting/avoiding arrest. They genuinely believe they shouldn’t be killed over it while it seems like nonblacks seem to have the belief that if you resist then you need to be stopped any means necessary.

That’s the core of it all. I’m not taking sides I’m just saying you need to be able to see the argument from both sides

I went to eat dinner with one of my white lib (relevant info for story) friends before he moved away this year, and when I told him I didn't experience racism growing up (black / hispanic and grew up in Texas) he then joked saying, "Huh...I didn't know black people could be racist against their own race." (Implying that because I didn't, there must be something wrong with me and that I was racist against black people).

Strangest thing to happen to me. I didn't even think about my own skin color (and still don't, nor care) and all that crap until my 30s.
