The only thing that really affects me from the pandemic at this point are the masks. Other than that life is basically the same, but can't wait for all these restrictions to end for everyone. But with Ford I won't hold my breath.

agreed. especially here because the govt has backtracked several times and anything can happen in 6 months. $1B+ has been spent on vaccine passports they aren't just going to simply remove it after 7 months. Trudeau already has contracts for 2 extra booster shots with Pfizer. Plus all the panic-cels will have a full blown meltdown. we've heard the same song and dance before.

This. He's got an election in seven months so he's going to do anything he can to remain popular. I could care less about any of the restrictions at this point, in fact I like going to places that aren't as crowded.

They know many thousands will be severely afflicted by vax side effects prior to March 22, so they know they’ll have all the justification needed to lockdown even harder.

Only way they will fully open ontario is by making the strictest measures right before opening

ie: everyone must be vaccinated and employers will be forced to make vaccines mandatory pretty much forcing everyone to get the vax

We haven't even hit a proper stretch of cold weather where everyone is inside and it's prime virus spreading conditions.

Just wait until Christmas or after Christmas when cases go up again and it's back to another lockdown and everyone blames the 10% of people who are unvaccinated even though the shot doesn't stop you from getting or spreading it and there have been plenty of cases of mass spread between vaccinated people.

If we want to go a step further. It's literally two major cities that decide the election. Toronto and the GTA (has like 45 seats) and the Montreal Metropolitan (30 seats around). Outside of the GTA most vote conservative. Outside of Montreal most vote BQ.

Look at this map, the two spots I highlighted/circled in red represent 70+ seats and they decide the elections pretty much. They all except save like 2 or 3 voted liberal.

Work for a Toronto based company, but I live in the US. I feel sorry for you guys. These people are out of their phucking minds. I have a Chief Revenue Officer, who is AFRAID to travel 95% of our clients are in the US. In office you have to wipe a seat down after sitting in it. Only 2 people per conference room vaccinated or not. And they just comply with it.

as bad as Ford is, if some virtue signaling bald manlet and some old obese woman is our only option then there really isn't much hope. we'd probably be locked down forever.

This is the problem. If politicians were actually good at anything they wouldn't be in politics. Doug Ford was a former drug dealer and had zero experience in anything running organizations, and now he's the Premier of a province. There's only crappy options.

We've been spoiled and it's getting really crappy now.

People don't have common sense, this is an inside virus and we're judging things based off of numbers when everyone was outside enjoying nice weather.

There's also the issue of people putting way too much trust in the vaccine to the point where they think everything is okay if everyone is vaccinated despite many examples of mass spread in vaccinated people.

I've had several conversations with people who agree the vaccine doesn't stop people from getting or passing on covid and then 5 seconds later they'll say but if everyone is vaccinated then it'll stop all this....

Yup. There's literally retards saying "if only 100% of people got vaccinated this would be all over!". Just lol. The same people who were like 1 year ago "if only everybody social distanced and wore masks!". Lmao. Australia and New Zealand had the strictest lockdowns and 2 years later it's still not over for them. We're still getting 100-200 cases from vaccinated people daily, they don't break down how many of the 30K tests they process are from unvaccinated vs unvaccinated. old and obese-cels are going to end up in hospital. Vaccine effectiveness wanes, some evidence that it even wanes for severe hospitalizations. The majority of people got their second shots in July so it hasn't hit the 6 month mark yet. So we'll see what happens December/January.
