Do you compost your organic waste? If you don't, why not?

It's the perfect way to handle organic waste, putting in a bag to be thrown in a landfill makes no fuken sense. Plus in the end your left with basically steroids for your plants/crops.

Making a compost is easy, odorless and way more convenient than throwing stuff into a plastic bag.

What do you burn? Chopped up foliage or general waste?

And yes chickens are the goat clean up crew. I have a bunch living next to my compost and they keep all the bugs in check, plus free eggs.

I take dumps in Crystal clear water and flush it into a large system of filtration and treatment. Have no idea where it goes.

I used to but stopped last year

Imo it makes sense if you have plenty of land, buy I'm in the suburbs and it's not worth all the pests it attracts

My wife bought a compost machine that dries it and grinds it up, even small bones. I was upset at first but it works well.

You would need to monitor and regulate the temperature of your pile so you create an environment where microbes can do their thing, otherwise you just have a pile of rotting organic material.

If you live in a colder climate yes, I'm spoiled since i live in the tropics my compost is always hot as fuk. Plus my chickens take care of the bugs and so on.
The pre made ones on sale at Amazon seem pretty neat. They have lots of ventilation and are big enough for home use.
Mine handles organic waste from my restaurant so it's huge. I have three in rotation ar different stages of the process. I just moved the finished one into sacs to clear it up and we managed to fill 25 sacs of finished compost, this is going to be used for the spring maiz cycle.
