Where should I go for my annual 30+ day trip?

I usually go on a 30-60 day vacation every year, typically beginning in early December and lasting until the end of January or February.

Live in the midwest US, so I typically try to go somewhere in the S Hemisphere so I can do Summer while my home has Winter. The two options I've been kicking around so far this year are Argentina and Thailand. I have to be in Spain in mid January for a medical procedure, and will hopefully travel for another few weeks after I'm recovered from that before traveling back to the US in February sometime.

Argentina is super cheap right now to visit, as their currency is in hyperinflation, but I'm looking at flights there and between a flight to Buenos Aires from the US and another flight to Spain in Januaary, I'd be looking at something like $4000 in airfare. Also, Argentina doesn't really have great beaches, and none of the great places to visit there are on beaches. So I'd likely just spend most of my time in Buenos Aires and maybe do Foz de Igacu falls. Not sure if I'd want to to a Patagonia trip, as that's not really my cup of tea. That's something I'd do with a chick, but not on a solo backpacking trip.

Second plan was to do a combo of Thailand then Australia to visit friends and road trip. I just found out that Australia isn't allowing foreigners to enter until at least 2022, so that seems to be out for now. Looking at Thailand, it seems pretty quiet right now, as many hostels are still closed and there aren't many tourists at all. I actually would enjoy this to a certain extent, but there are also a bunch of restrictions on alcohol and bars and clubs in Thailand, so it wouldn't be that much fun at all. It would end up being a lot of eating and banging hookers, and tbh I don't really enjoy hookers that much. I just saw a video of Kho San Road from today, and it was mostly just a bunch of incel European types sitting around drinking beers, and that's not what I'm looking for.

Anyways, I'm wondering if anybody else has recommendations. I'd be very interested for suggestions. I guess I could do something like Mexico, but I've already been there twice already this year and really much prefer S America. I was in Brazil last year and had a great time, so I guess I could always go back. But obviously would prefer to visit something else.

Thailand seems full of enriching cultural experiences. I think women there walk up to you and lead you to their cultural attractions.

Japan looks interesting.

OmiCON is already fcking up travelling.

I wouldnt plan a multi country trip as countries are going on quarantine list immediately as soon as the new common cold is identified there.

Jan in Europe will be meh.

Maybe Belize would be a less expensive flight?
