I have a month to travel around the USA, I’ll be driving. Where should I go from colorado

This time of year? I'd go due south to NM. Then due east across TX and the gulf coast states, down the gulf coast of FL and on into the Florida keys, stopping in Key West where you can Ernest Hemingway's cats. Eat a key lime pie, lay on the beach for a couple of days, then drive back the way you came.
