never give in to the norwood reaper - completely regrew hairline in 2.5 months (pics)

I upped my hair loss regimen

5mg of oral minoxidil instead of topical

0.5mg of dutasteride instead of 1mg of finasteride per day

Legit the balding destroyed my confidence and I've gotten it back

Fin to prevent further balding, fin and dut do the same thing (reduces scalp DHT) but dut does a better job

Min for regrowth

Oral min is much more effective because many people lack the enzyme on their scalp to convert minoxidil into minoxidil sulfate ... oral solves this problem but you have to monitor your heart health as it is an outdated blood pressure medication for those with high blood pressure

i was going to try oral minoxidil ded fkn srs but i heard minoxidil ages your skin???

i think its the oral minoxdil that really helped you

My skin has been fine but I've really made a point to reduce drinking, eat healthier and I got a prescription for retin-a (tretinoin)

lol yeah man I'm not an expert

Look at my fuking hairline in the first pic tho - looking a little older is defn a tradeoff I was willing to take (although I haven't noticed any cosmetic differences in how old I look since starting oral min)

I use fin but I'm only seeing marginal benefits.

Thinking of stacking with minoxdil. Would topical min work just as well or is oral more recommended?

Fin stops the process. Minoxidil just stimulates the hair you have so it looks better than it is.


Do you know math? Fin alters the slope of the line. Minoxidil changes the y intercept.

Minoxidil regrew a lot of hair for me but only after I dumped it on 4x per day. Orally is much more manageable but can grow body hair.

Use Nizoral shampoo too.

Personally I would try topical min + dermarolling first if you really want to go all out. If you don't see results in 6 months I would consider low dose oral min (1.25mg-5mg) but only after I've conducted a ton of research and better yet have consulted with a dermatologist who can prescribe you the medication and then monitor your heart health and side effects.

Oral minoxidil is quite taboo in NA but it's become more and more common in places like Australia.

I started taking oral minoxidil because topical just wasn't working and my hairline got destroyed over the past 18 months prior to taking.

OP, I'm curious. How much of a reduction in alcohol intake are we talking here? I always wondered how/if the side affects from drinking have an effect of the ol hairline.

I used to eat out 3 times per day and get blackout drunk and do Pepsi 1-2x per week for about 2.5 years

Now I drink maybe twice per month and keep it under 6 drinks and have been blackout maybe 2-3 times in the last 8 months

Topical might or might not work as well. You also get that greasy fluid on your head, which burned my brother's. Fewer internal side effects though.

hair looks great. i would never take drugs but i would certainly choose drugs over surgery.

will fin alone be able to maintain the regrowth you get from minoxdil?


Wondering if you could get big regrowth from going on durst and oral min for say 6 months and then revert back to just fin and keep all your gains?


worried about min reducing collagen. I have bags under my eyes now that started around the same time I started using minoxdil.

your temples filled in really well. I'm not having the same luck. I'll need another transplant unfortunately, which will be a while because I want to see Couto, and his waitlist is super long.

My temples are gone and I have diffuse thinning. Already had one transplant. Wish I started fin in 2010, srs. Instead of 2017.
