Canadian brahs, need your help

I'm working on a story about a heist, set in Montreal. The producer says it has to be located in Montreal. I have never been to Montreal. I will be researching online, but what are some mistakes that an American could easily make about a heist/crime/robbery and the way it is investigated in Montreal.

An American would likely never realize Quebec french is nothing like European french.
