Listen, OP. I'm going to respect your opinion here. (No I won't). I won't talk about your taste in music. (Obviously, it's gay). I believe you know what you're talking about. (I also know you're a p3cker expert). You have convinced me. (That you're gay.) I will just assume that you are having a bad day and that someone hurt you. (Probably your boyfriend.)

While I whole heartedly agree about RATM simply because Tom is a ****het
TOOL are a collection of four of the greatest to ever do it and create nothing short of masterpieces. I won’t respect your opinion on that one.

I like Tool, but I've always thought Rage was overhyped garbage. I can't think of one song I actually think is decent. I hate that guys voice

Don't like Tool.
RHCP was great through BSSM, which is an awesome album, and have sucked for a long time IMHO.

lol its funny that some of you think rage against the machine changed
they are the same they have been, its just that now your mind has evolved past where theirs got stuck, and now we have lived through a time where people like them got their voices heard en masse, and intelligent people realized how stupid their nonsense was
also this forum is now adults and not angsty 18 year olds in the 2000s which is who should have been listening to rage against the machine

As a masters level drummer with 25+ years of music experience, everyone likes and appreciates different types of music.
You may not like Tool but they are not overrated in any way shape or form. I highly doubt you understand the math and the time signatures behind their music, what they are doing and just how difficult it is. I can play 95% of every bands stuff out of my back pocket on the fly in a gig. It took me THREE WEEKS to learn a single one of Danny's polyrhythms for a show I played with a band. There are maybe two or three other drummers I put in that category of difficulty. There is only one drummer I wont even try to replicate.
I am not an avid Tool fan but I can assure you that they have my respect.
This is just one fill in one song, its absolute genius. He arranges notes to make you feel like the music is slowing down...but it isnt.
Polyrhythm odd time signature madness...I dont even

Tool is music for the musician. RATM sucks though.
Anyone saying Tool is overrated doesn’t understand what they hear. I get if someone doesn’t love it, but any real musician will respect it if they tried to play the parts. They have songs with each member playing in diff time sigs and syncing it into a meeting harmony. It’s actually underrated to the casual listener as they don’t have a trained ear to realize the complexity. Their drummer is one of the best to ever play.

Tool is great.
Rage with the Machine sucks. Bunch of commie posers screaming about nothing.
Audioslave is the actually good version of Rage With the Machine.

Anyone that denounces that band or the drummer probably doesnt know anything about music.
Agree 100% on Rage. They are idiots but their music is infectious. Watch their first show at the amusement park. They start with 15 people in the audience and by the time they finish playing there are several hundreds. They arent good and they are overrated but they have IT....whatever "it" is...
