For those not in the know, the opioid epidemic was brought about due to a purpose-built campaign beginning in the 1990s by Big Pharma to target white, low-income regions of the U.S. for adoption of an incredibly addicting pain-killing drug, OxyContin. The family at the center of this was the Sacklers, a Jewish family with pharmaceuticals at it's heart since the 1960s, transforming another addicting wonder drug, ******. My personal thoughts, given the power of the pharmaceutical industry judicially and legislatively, I don't believe this decision was made for "the good" of the victims, and some ulterior motive has reared it's head. The initial news of this, though, if taken at face value, is positive.
A federal judge has upended the bankruptcy plan of OxyContin maker Purdue Pharma, saying the members of the Sackler family who own the company could not be released from legal claims over the opioid epidemic.

In a 142-page ruling, U.S. District Judge Colleen McMahon in New York said that the controversial provision to grant the Sackler family members immunity from thousands of lawsuits over the public health crisis is “inconsistent” with the U.S. Bankruptcy Code, disagreeing with the court that had approved the approximately $4.5 billion agreement in the fall.

After the decision, the company announced it would appeal. The chairman of the company’s board, Steve Miller, said in a statement that the ruling would “delay and perhaps end the ability of creditors, communities, and individuals to receive billions in value to abate the opioid crisis.”

Attorney General Merrick Garland said the Justice Department was pleased with Thursday’s ruling, saying in a statement that “the bankruptcy court did not have the authority to deprive victims of the opioid crisis of their right to sue the Sackler family.”

While I'm disappointed they didn't expose the absolute state of "Jewishness" involved, I'm glad some semblance of recognition is being shown in the media. The choice and look of the actor to play Richard Sackler, though... lol they hit the nail right on the head with that one

The guy who played him was born jewish but turned to some other alternative religion, probably why he was willing to do it.

He killed it in The Judge too, playing a crime boss opposite Brian Cranston.
