Anyone's workplace bigly affected by this log4j exploit?

Dunno if posted before, but IT support and the developer team in my company have been working round the clock to get this chit patched on our systems

I just want to know who thought it was a good idea to create a logger which enables remote code execution

yeah, basically every tech company. patched last friday/sat to 2.15, then again to 2.16 yesterday/today

It affects other things that are java based and what not, and stuff that allows java code modules to be executed etc

@Topic: For us (i'm a developer) it's affected all our Spring/java apps as well as WebMethods (a B2B system)

in laymans terms, a java logger which enables an attacker to remotely execute commands on the target machine, or something to that effect

And that is extremely easy to exploit and is in TONS of things.

Java is so ubiquitous I'd be pretty surprised if any moderately sized company that uses any type of software isn't impacted in some way.

But yeah its been my entire week since Friday night when the ball dropped

Backdoors are all added intentionally. Lol at thinking this was a mistake.
