Everyone needs to stop going in for testing. Carry phone in a Faraday bag. Check messages every hour. Deny being in contract with anyone. Fight this on due process grounds.

Does the state have less of a due process obligation for contagious people than for criminals?

The Supreme court already ruled only a preponderance of evidence is needed to detain someone in a mental hospital indefinitely.

Stalin used mental hospitals to detain his rivals. Says anyone would have to be crazy to stand up to him.

If I lived in New York, I would move out of there.

But in any state, if psychiatrist wants to commit you to an institution, they can do so on their word. 72 hour hold is another unchecked power.

You can request a trial, but it is not public, your lawyer won't help you, the state is already your guardian and picks the lawyer for you, the psych has you drugged up before hand, you can't speak since only your lawyer can, and the lowest standard of evidence is decided by a specialized judge. They also bill your kids for your treatment. I saw such a case go down and was not allowed to help.
