Zoomers are buffer than Millenials/Gen Y
I work in an office with a lot of recent grads and I've noticed a lot of them lift. Back when I started working pretty much every office worker was either fat or skinny fat or just skinny. People who worked out were rare, and most of those who did never looked like it.
I think there are 2 main reasons for this:
First, good info about how to make progress lifting is extremely easy to find now due to the internet. When I started lifting as a teenager in the early 2000's I basically made no progress for a long time because although the internet did exist, good info was hard to find, what you would find was fragmented, incomplete, contradictory, inapplicable to beginners, and often just plain wrong. Now with the web 2.0 and social media and fitness youtubers, etc information about making good progress is easier to find than it ever was.
The second reason is that zoomers just seem to eat healthier. There are a lot of vegans in my office, and most of them are zoomers (I have never met an old vegan). I'm not saying veganism is the only healthy way to eat but you gotta admit a diet of fruits and veggies is healthier than fast food. Back in my day people ate like crap, mostly fast food and vegans were rare. And even fast food is healthier today, they have healthy options at most fast food restaurants. And with the introduction of companies that will ship ready-to-cook meal boxes to your house it's easier to cook healthy. Smoking has also gone out of style and is much rarer among zoomers than millenials.
tldr; zoomers are healthier than millenials, props to them.
I would be interested to know if others have observed the same thing as me.

Problem is obesity levels are record highs for kids today than previous generations
But at the high end I don’t disagree entirely. Also believe social media plays a component. Fact is back in the day the only time you’d be photographed was on maybe a vacation or family event, then you’d have to get the picture developed, framed, etc who gives a chit.
Now every day people are posting pictures to social media. I think there’s a lot more pressure and therefore effort in looking good
