I don't admire the guy because he's wealthy, he's too autistic to use it all.

I admire the guy because he made NASA look like a bunch of retards. If he didn't flex on them so hard they would be content sending Chia pets to space for the next hundred years as opposed to doing anything meaningful like establishing colonies on the moon or mars. NASA employees have fat government contracts with incredible compensation and pensions. They're on the gravy train with biscuit wheels and they were all quite content doing absolutely nothing ambitious until Elon dunked on them.

All of the automotive giants were quite content sitting on their asses doing nothing with electric vehicles and now that Tesla has come to prominence they are desperately fighting to innovate- because not innovating, or at the very least catching up, means the death of their company.

And then for ****s and giggles the guy is boring underground tunnels, trying to fix the inefficiencies in the power grid (moving to decentralized power), putting microchips in brains to overcome physical handicaps, establishing autonomous driving, and now that battery technology is about to hit 400 watt/hours per kilogram electric flight is possible and you better believe he has a full plan in place for short distance electric flight (think aerial taxis in city environments).

If Elon moves into your industry the bell has tolled for you and you better wake up or go broke.

We may see interplanetary settlement in our lifetime because Elon has weaponized his autism.
