Are commas out of vogue now?
Whenever I see, someone using lots of commas, it pretty much tells me, it's probably a middle aged, to older, dude.
Most young people these days regardless of whether highly educated or dumb don't use commas much anymore.

While I can't say that I've noticed this, it does, in my opinion, sound believable, but, if I had to guess, I would say that even though commas have some helpful functions, such as controlling the pacing, they are small, ugly, and often distracting, which means that, at least in most cases, having too many commas is a worse problem than having too few, even when they're correctly used.
