Domino's Pizza - Imagine getting a pizza delivered in 2022, 300% upcharge vs pick up

So if you pick up a large 3 topping pizza with the carryout special = $7.99 + $0.76 tax = $8.75 total.

Same pizza with their best coupon for large 3 topping for delivery = $14.99 + $5.99 delivery fee (CA Brah) + $1.99 tax (yes they tax you on the delivery fee) = $22.97 total + $3.03 tip = $26.00

$26.00 / $8.75 = 297% upcharge for delivery.

Even if you're a lowlife stiffer, you are still paying 262% more to get your pizza delivered.

Of course Domino's is trash tier pizza and you should always find the best independent pizza place in your area, but that said their stock price does nothing but go up every year, so that is a fairly sad reflection on the avergage Murican consumer.

Even then Domino's is so threatened by Postmates and Door Dash that they have launched an entire ad campaign bragging about how they bought $100,000 worth of gifts cards from "Ma and Pa" restaurants to give to their customers so that no one has to pay "delivery app fees".

The funny thing is that during the pandemic delivery apps like Postmates and Door Dash were the only thing that allowed many of these restaurants to survive.

Look, you're my best friend, so don't take this the wrong way but, in 20 years if you're still here postin' in hhhnnnggg threads, beggin' for mod reps, and braggin' about whales you harpooned from POF, I'll f'in kill ya. That's not a threat, that's a fact, I'll f'in kill ya. You got somethin' none of us have, and you don't owe it to yourself man, you owe it to me. Cuz tomorrow I'm gonna wake up and I'll be red, and I'll still be a socially awkward/FA. And that's all right.

damn wtf didnt know dominos pizza stock was that high

also I always pick up for the best price whether its pizza hut, wing stop, or restaurants.. never pay the ubereats, grub hub, postmates tax. The menu on those apps are more expensive. One time i had to postmates a $5.99 jack in the box ultimate cheeseburger because no car, hungry as fuk at work. "Free delivery code" yea right it was $16+ dollars for one hamburger then they want tips

Did I tell you about my $9 coffee? Or about my $95 day car park, or about our fuel going up randomly by 40%, or when I compare Amazon products on the app, vs using the American Amazon they charge us 3x the price of the item ? Wait till America inflation catches up to the rest of the west(Canada new Zealand Aus UK etc.)

Local pizza only crew

We've got an old couple from Naples, Italy that's been making some bomb ass pizza for 40 years out of a little hole in the wall in my town.

Even the greatest leader in America knows what's up.

The actual threat is not DoorDash/Delivery apps, it is the dark kitchen concept they enabled to explode

Random restaurant concepts can be opened regionally or nationally in a matter of weeks, operating from warehouses, with lower costs, better branding and potentially better product than the incumbents. Why should a franchisee pay royalties to a franchisor and a delivery app when they can open their own shop with better margins and more reach?

this, their pizza is hot smoking garbage

their pizzas only redeeming factor is that it's a pretty good hangover food and that's about it
