Best brand of tools (35k reps for help)

Looking at getting new tools. Dad passed away 4 years ago and have been using his tools he left me that he’s used for a long time. Looking for a good brand that’ll last me a while. No budget.

if it's just for little repairs around the house.. ryobi or the lowes brand(forgot their name) no point n spending 600+ dollars on an impact and driver drill to just leave in your garbage

kinda depends on what you're talking about brah. different tools are better than others at certain things

i tell you what i like makita over dewalt and milwaukee. milwaukee and dewalt feel clunky comparatively both their motor and ergonomically. had one guy use my makita cause he liked it could get to smaller places

and i remember a video where a guy tested a bunch of wrenches and tekton did really well compared to tools like snap on and their price

Tool whore checking in. Definitely Snap-on if you don't have a budget (You said no budget) and want the no BS best of the best. If you did want to budget though some non-hand tools are rebrand and you can find out which are and save some, like my Snap-on locking pliers, files, and cutting blades are actually made by Bahco. If you wanted to save you can also just get WILLIAMS tools which are Snap-ons industrial US brand and are 99% the same. Snap-on's Blue-Point line is Chinese as are Mac, Matco, and Cornwell.

My skillsaw and drywall gun are makita, both tools I have never had any problems with and I am hard on tools. I’m also a big makita fan.

For Mechanics hand tools, Snap on is pretty good but with having the same warranty for less money it may be worth it to go with Cornwell, matco, mac, ect.

For power tools I like Dewalt. I use their 20v tools at home and Use the 12V impact driver/ drill daily for my job rebuiding transmissions. I usually get 2-3 years out of the setup and I use them about 30 hours per week. Alot of guys also use milwaukee, they make great tools and some of the dewalt/milwaukee batteries are interchangeable. I dont like that on the Milwaukee the rubber handles swell when working around oil, they do not do that on the dewalt 12v

at like a $30 premium over the eagle grips straight from malco on amazon ayylmao

but yeah if money is no question, no reason not to go snap-on for the hand tools. they are the best overall

i'm personally invested in the dewalt ecosystem as far as power tools because they had some cordless things no other company did at the time, but i wouldn't mind some of the milwaukee specialty mechanic's power tools since dewalt seems to neglect that market segment. heard good things about makita's newer tools, i reckon it's a bit of a crapshoot at this point. whatever's easier to warranty i guess.

as said above, wera/wiha make incredible drivers, there's some japanese/korean brands that make killer ratchets but it's a deep rabbit hole when you could just as easily get a load of snap-on **** that has warranty service

My Snap-on nicad seems stronger than my Milwaukee m18 Fuel electric impact but both are great. Snap-on uses heavier duty guts but neither has let me down.
